As part of SIBR's ongoing commitment to strong and effective governance, the Board of Directors has completed a review of the Association's Bylaws and identified several areas for clarification and updates.

The Board of Directors has approved presenting four proposed Bylaw amendments to the membership for consideration. These changes are intended to improve clarity, eliminate outdated or duplicate language, and ensure our Bylaws accurately reflect the Association's current operations and governance practices.

Your participation is important! We encourage all eligible REALTOR® members to review the proposed amendments and cast their votes.

What Changes Are Being Proposed?

The four proposed amendments address:



1. MLS-Related Provisions: Remove outdated MLS-related language to clarify SIBR's responsibilities as a REALTOR® association while recognizing its shareholder interest in MARIS.
2. Membership Requirements: Establish a 90 day timeframe for new members to complete membership requirements, consistent with NAR's Model Bylaws framework.
3. Duplicate Bylaw Language: Remove a section addressing officer duties that is already included elsewhere in the Bylaws.
4. Vice President Vacancy: Update the language governing Vice President vacancies to align with previously approved changes to the officer election process.

Why Your Participation Matters

Under SIBR's Bylaws, a quorum of 5% of REALTOR® members in good standing is required. Based on our current membership of 2,077 REALTORS®, at least 104 members must participate to meet this requirement.

Every vote helps ensure the membership has a voice in the Association's governance. Whether you support or oppose an amendment, we encourage you to participate and make your voice heard.

Official Notice & Annual Membership Meeting

The SIBR Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

This communication serves as official notice of the proposed Bylaw amendments in accordance with the Association's notice requirements.



Voting results will be shared with the membership following the close of voting and certification of the results.
