Leadership Development
Becoming an effective, engaging, and collaborative IT leader is hard and the rapid pace of change in IT and business makes it even harder. Seattle SIM invites you to join us for an all-day leadership workshop designed to help IT Executives develop effective personal and organizational change management strategies, and identify hazardous scenarios that you can successfully navigate. Dr. Joey Collins presents the frameworks behind these topics using application, “Moments that Matter”, and roundtable discussions which will challenge conventional thinking. His depth of knowledge and leadership application bring new insights, previously unrecognized for executives.

Event Program
The day consists of two sessions:

The “morning” session focuses on identifying resistance to change personally and within your teams. Our time is designed to help leaders manage change better and discover why past ideas have not prospered and previous commitments may not have been met.

The “afternoon” session focuses on accelerating leadership development via “Moments that Matter.” Practical application and practice of short 'micro' interventions that can have lasting, positive impacts on one's team, leadership development, performance and career.
Practical Approach and Guide for the Workshop

Morning Objectives:
·         Identify the personal/professional development goal which would have the biggest positive impact

·         Recognize how you’ve been unwittingly sabotaging your best efforts to change

·         Uncover hidden habits of mind which have held you back

·         Immediately begin a structured series of exercises to better understand the limiting mindsets and start to shift them to allow progress

Afternoon: Accelerate your leadership development. Afternoon Objectives:
·         Understand how “Moments that matter” shape leaders’ thinking about who they are and what they want to become and accomplish.

·         Identify a MTM that have shaped participants view of their leadership and identify the phase of life and context in which it happened.
Moments That Matter:
Prior evidence indicates that leadership development can be accelerated by taking advantage of moments that affect development. Research has shown that even short ‘micro’ interventions lasting minutes can have a lasting, positive impact on one’s leadership development and performance. This occurs because moments that are ‘tagged’ with some emotional content or meaning get one’s attention. Reflection on such moments can then affect the way one thinks about leading and following. Indeed, every Executive can come up with a ‘moment’ that has profoundly impacted development sometimes over an entire life-span.
