Hope & Harmony builds on Mistral’s 23-year tradition of presenting inspiring concerts for audiences in the Greater Boston area. Under the leadership of artistic director and co-founder Julie Scolnik, Mistral offers music of the highest artistic standards with a singular personal connection to its audiences, and provides affordable musical enrichment to people in both intimate venues and larger halls.

This concert is the third in a series of benefit concerts that Ms. Scolnik has organized in the Boston area, and the second with Sir Simon Rattle, who conducted the last benefit concert for Mistral in 2010, also in Jordan Hall.

Mistral artistic director Julie Scolnik herself went through breast cancer treatments in 2005. Now fourteen years after her last treatments, and happily cancer-free, Scolnik continues to use her musical connections to raise money for women living through similar challenges who need sup port. During the evening Scolnik will say a few words about the role music played in her healing process.
