In this month's issue:

Staying healthy at home and while traveling, staying motivated, loving life, and the Grand Velas resort, Los Cabos, Mexico!
While everyone talks about February being the month of love and Valentines, and it is, it can also be a determining time frame for us all on a go-forward basis. They say that it takes 30 days for a habit to fully develop. Dare we say New Year’s resolutions anyone? Whether it’s a personal, career, or team goal, those first 30 days are when your January resolutions will be put to the test. By the time February arrives, most of us have either abandoned the resolution completely, or seriously doubt our ability to follow through.

As hard as it may be to generate a habit, it’s critical remember why you wanted to make the change in the first place and what the pay-off will be. In today’s fast paced society, it’s easy to be short on patience and look for those “quick-fixes” and instant gratifications. However, if you can commit to pushing forward and staying focused on developing your new habits, the ROI is priceless. As important as it is to show our love and affection for others this month, it’s equally important to practice a little self-love as well, which is why sticking to valid resolutions is about more than just talking a good game; it’s about staying true to yourself, your goals, and your dreams.

As the world watches the news about the devastating Coronavirus, we at S.I.S. send our thoughts and prayers to those in China and locations around the world affected by this virulent illness.
It’s an important and timely reminder that everyone must be vigilant in ensuring, to the best of their ability, their personal health and safety when traveling. Stay abreast of destinations particularly affected by health threats, and avoid visiting those destinations when travel advisories are in place. Having said that, the truth is, no one knows where a virus may linger, but being cautious and taking extra precautions could make a significant difference in the chances of contracting a virus or disease. After all, even the common head cold or flu can be miserable and disrupt travel plans, so doing all you can to stay virus-free is something to take into serious consideration. Here are a few ways you can protect yourself at home and when traveling:
1.    Avoid close contact with those who are sick, particularly those with obvious cold symptoms
2.   Frequently wash your hands with soap and warm water
3.   Cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing
4.   Carry and use anti-bacterial wipes frequently, especially after touching items in public areas, such as bathrooms, grocery stores, restaurants, airports, public transit stations, etc.
5.   Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
6.   Steer clear of markets that sell live animals throughout your world travels
7.   If you become concerned about any symptoms you may feel, seek immediate medical attention
Oh, I love the month of love. Having been so blessed in so many areas, I feel I’m in love with life! The ability to experience so much of this incredible world and sharing it with others is truly something that makes my work feel like play. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not serious about what I do, where I am in my life, and where I want to set my next goals. Far from it! I’m an extremely goal-oriented person, so for me it’s important that I continually take stock of my next steps and ensure I’m on-target. Maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically fit, and finding a good work/life balance are vital to allowing me to continue to do what I do. So, while I enjoy life and having fun, I’m also quick to get back on track and realign myself with my goals.
With February being the Valentine month, I look forward to spending quality time with my family in all the ways that matter to me. Truthfully, for me it’s not about spending a ton of money on things, or fancy dinners; it’s about spending time with loved ones, enjoying simple pleasures, like the wag of my dogs’ tails when they see me, the nicker of my horse as I approach, the squeal of pleasure from a grandchild, or the fabulous beauty of a sunset over the barn. However you spend this special month of love, make it about the places and people you value. Life is an experience—go live it!
