Her advice is: don't put away those boots, generators, shovels or take off the snow tires just yet. While waiting, try to appreciate and enjoy each day as the miracle it is.

Sunshine: Our continued thoughts and prayers are with our Warrior Wendy. We are here for whatever you need or want. Sunshine also to our speaker today, Shelley Zentner, who had to cancel due to illness.

Our guest today was Millie the puppy. She brings such joy and comfort, thanks for sharing her Lydia.

Today's speaker was scheduled to be Artist Shelley Zentner. Unfortunately, she fell ill and has to reschedule. We took the opportunity to have some SITSterhood time. We played games, had time for each member to talk about what made them happy recently and gave away beautiful raffle items.

We previewed our updated website and talked about how important it is to remember the history of our club.

El Dorado County School Boards Association (EDCSBA) annual awards ceremony recognizing exceptional service and commitment to education.

Paula Peterson, editor and publisher of SouthTahoeNow.com, received the Outstanding Community Member Award for her impactful contributions to education through journalism and community engagement. Known for her balanced, insightful, and solution-oriented reporting, Ms. Peterson has played a vital role in elevating public understanding of issues affecting Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD). She consistently collaborates with LTUSD and community leaders to highlight challenges, celebrate successes, and spotlight the work of educators and staff.

Beyond her journalistic contributions, Ms. Peterson’s extensive involvement in local nonprofits—including as founder of Bread & Broth 4 Kids, which provides meals to LTUSD students in need—demonstrates her deep commitment to the well-being of the community. Her leadership roles in organizations such as Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra, Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids, and the Lake Tahoe Historical Society underscore her far-reaching impact. Her work has not only informed but inspired action, fostering positive change throughout LTUSD schools and the broader South Lake Tahoe area.

Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless seeks community support in keeping people cared for.

Our South Shore community has been able to sleep better knowing that our homeless population has an indoor option. This winter season marked the seventh anniversary of the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH) providing warm beds to the most vulnerable in our community.

The office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12-4 at the Red Lodge, 1137 Emerald Bay Rd.
