Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra

Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

We are always looking for fun and dedicated women to join our club!

'WAKE UP WITH US'

for an inspiring start to your day

President Lisa Cali opened today's meeting with her amazing smile and warm heart.

Guests today

Our Invocation today was from our "Book of Lydia" since she is enjoying Italy! Fall reminds us it is a beautiful time of change.

Sunshine: Jeanne's 18-year-old dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge and our thoughts are with her. Andie's mother-in-law's party was set to be at a neighbor's house, but it burned before the party stated. All out okay.

Today's speaker was artist Scott Forrest. Scott is very connected to our missing of supporting the community through fundraising and support. He will be coming back in the Spring to help us create a work of art, and perhaps accompanying note cards and other things to auction off in our online auction!

Scott was born in San Francisco, and raised in Danville but spent a lot of time living in Los Angeles before moving to South Lake Tahoe. A visitor since he was 3, he's been a full-time resident for 10 years. He said he loves living in all the beauty of the Sierra.

Scott currently has a one-man show in the Lisa Maloff Center where we met, so much of our meeting was spent looking at his art and understanding the textures he goes for while highlighting the backdrop of where it is placed. The paintings at the college are 3-D, so grab the special classes in the lobby to enjoy them to their fullest!

He works with top interior designers and architects and his art is at many Lake Tahoe lakefront homes, including the old Harrah's estate.
