Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra

Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

We are always looking for fun and dedicated women to join our club! Consider joining us for an inspiring start to your day!

President Lisa Cali opened today's special meeting, our Annual SITS Retreat. This is a time that we take each and every year to review the needs in our community and make plans on how to address those needs. Thank you to Cookie and Paul Rork for hosting this very special time for our club at your beautiful home! And thank you to the ladies who participated today. This is a very important task for our group. Your presence and your food were very appreciated.

Sunshine: Our thoughts continue to be with Julie C and the recent loss of her brother. And to Hellen & Prince, our hearts are with you with the loss of Doug. We are here for you.

Today's Retreat was fantastic!

We began our meeting with the induction of a fabulous new member, Tommye Johnson! We are so excited to have you along for our journey and we appreciate all the wonderful input you provided at today's meeting.

We were also blessed to have two leaders of the LTCC SITsters Club attend our meeting today. We learned from them and they learned from us. This is a recently developed club at LTCC for both women and men who want to be of service to our community and we are so excited. They are already busy with meetings and growing as an organization and throughout today we discussed ways in which we will support one another. Thank you to Valery and Soffia! You ladies ROCK!

Led by Wendy David, we discussed what our club accomplished this past year, what challenges we encountered, and where we want to go with the service we provide to our community and the world.

We had several takeaways from today which we will begin to work on right away. Those items include: All members signing up for a Service Committee and a Technical Committee (link is below!), Committees setting their goals and getting their budgets into Finance by Sept. 5, organizing a Fall Membership Event, creating a strong partnership with LTCC SITster Club, the creation of an ad hoc Branding Committee, a plan for organizing our fundraising efforts, and much more!

The room was energized and all members are excited of what's to come. Thank you Wendy and President Lisa for such a well thought out meeting.

Now ladies, let's get to work!
