President Lisa Cali opened our meeting on this brilliant fall day.
Invocation: Lydia's invocation was an observation of her neighborhood Yogi Bear dealing with the new STR trash carts. Bears are one of the most intelligent mammals and although this bear was not able to access her garbage on the first try, she has no doubt that it will only be a matter of time. Here are the lessons Yogi passed on to Lydia: Trust what your previous experiences have taught you. If you can't solve the problem with old skills, then develop new ones. Be persistent.
Sunshine: Our thoughts are with Lisa H as her Dad's health is declining. Also, former member Carol Taylor's husband Mike has passed away. Below is the email she sent:
I’m just touching base with you to update. Many of you have already heard that my husband, Mike, passed away this week after a massive stroke & Parkinson’s disease. He’s at peace & pain-free now after many health struggles.
I have moved to a central California assisted care facility nearby my daughter. My email & cell # remain unchanged. My new address is:
177 Mary Ave, #136
Nipomo, CA 93444
Blessings to all of you for being true Tahoe comrades, Carol Taylor.

| | Our Speaker today was Alex Schumacher, Account Executive from the Tahoe Knight Monsters and his sidekick, Mascot Tahoe Tessie. Alex came to Tahoe in March from Nebraska and said he has never seen a more beautiful place. The Knight Monsters are managed by Zawyer Sports & Entertainment whose mission is "to provide affordable family sports entertainment with an emphasis on quality fan experiences and community engagement while producing competitive sports teams and brands." And indeed, Alex explained how the Knight Monsters want to be a resource for the community and provide family entertainment while training players to advance to the more elite NHL. They are affiliated with the Vegas Golden Knights and the Henderson Silver Knights. They plan to have theme nights honoring first responders and military including a scrimmage with local hockey players and a fundraiser for veterans. They are planning a health weekend to honor nurses and doctors. Youth hockey players will be invited to train with the players and the local Lakers team will have a scrimmage.
There will be 36 home games at the Tahoe Blue Events center and 36 away games. Single tickets start at $25 and season tickets can be had for $1500. Tickets are transferrable if you are unable to attend. More information can be found here. Cool swag can also be found on their website--jerseys, hats and sweatshirts for your favorite hockey fan.
