Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

While enjoying the SNOW!!!

President Paula welcomed everyone to our meeting this week.

Sunshine: We are all in agreement… We love to see the actual sun SHINE!

Invocation: Have you ever wondered who ate the first oyster, or pineapple, or crab, or Brazil nut? If you did not know better those foods, when looked up or touched, do not beckon the hungry whispering, “Eat me!” Did the perfume scent of a pineapple lure someone to venture past the prickly exterior of the fruit and enjoy the delicious flesh? Did abject hunger force some shore dwelling tribe to crush the exterior skeleton of a crab only to find the sweet meat inside? These are life lessons as certain as the path to nourishment - watch someone skilled when a task stymies you; spring past the doubt and try something different; and sometimes follow the sweat fragrance of temptation to enjoy and indulge.

Mad Hatter Handiwork

We spent the morning in fun and friendship, putting together a plethora of projects for our Mad Hatter Tea Party. Giant flowers, hanging lanterns, and decoration to embellish the rabbit hole kept us busy. It will be fabulous to experience WONDERLAND, built by the busy hands of our SITSters.

If you or your family / friends have not yet purchased tickets, NOW is the time! If you are a table hostess, but would like to sit a visit with our guests, please consider buying a ticket. All of the funds we raise will help to continue to support our community.

Thank you to our newest CLUB Sponsor for 2023, Bank of the West! We are so excited to have you and your team as a partner to enhance the lives of women and youth in our community and the world! Thank you so much!

Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless seeks community support in keeping people warm this winter

As our Tahoe winter settles in with snow and frigid temperatures, most residents retreat to the inside for activities, comforts, and warm beds in a place we call home. Our South Shore community has been able to sleep better knowing that our homeless population has this option as well. This winter season marks the seventh anniversary of the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH) providing warm beds to the most vulnerable in our community.

They are also in great need for clothing items and will accept donations at their office

The office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12-4 at the Red Lodge, 1137 Emerald Bay Rd. As the temperature drops they are in need of warm clothes and jackets, gloves, and hand warmers.
