Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

President Paula welcomed everyone via zoom today to our Business Meeting as winter is providing us with ample snow! We are missing our ladies face to face, but we need to keep our engines running and keep everyone safe.

Our Invocation was provided by Lydia reminding us about how fast life goes by. Each and every day seems to zoom past and it's important that we take the time to take moments, and realize the important things in our moments, our days, and our life. Each day provides a new opportunity so make today count.

Today's guests included Janet Blumberg. Thank you for joining us today and we hope to see more of you!

Sunshine - We were thrilled to see Jeanne on our meeting today! Just two weeks post surgery she reports that each day she's doing better. Also doing better is Tina who continues to rehab her new hip. Wishing Amy a quick recovery from cooties as well.

We had several items for our Business Meeting today. They included:

  • Correspondence: Shirley read a wonderful letter from Wendy and the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless. SITS appreciates all the work the coalition has done to reduce homelessness and increase self-sufficiently in our community.
  • Congratulations and celebration for Anniversary Milestones: Karen Houser with 17 years and Julie Nelson with 21 years!
  • Old Business:
  • Concerning our FUNdraiser this year. We will have TWO separate raffle opportunities for purchase. One for the Maui Condo and a second one for the RCI Timeshare. Both are listed on the event site at www.sitsfundraiser.org. There will only be 200 tickets sold for EACH opportunity and anyone, anywhere can purchase them! We hope they go fast. All sales will be online and winners will be drawn at the close of the auction on May 12 at 5 PM. SHARE this link and SHARE it often!
  • The Mad Hatter Tea Party will be on Sunday, April 30 from 2 - 5 PM. Tickets will be $55 each and we will sell only 130 tickets. Tickets will be sold online only. Ladies, there are so many costume ideas and costumes online so let's get dressed up! We need you to join a committee to make this event spectacular!
  • Auction update: Lisa has sent out electronic letters to all of our fabulous donors. Ladies are currently asked to signup on the google doc that Mandy created and follow up with donors of their choice. Lisa will create hard copy letters for you to follow up with. We have several items which have already come in. SHARE our auction site NOW as people can register to bid and create lists on items they want too follow. www.sitsfundraiser.org
  • Sponsors: A big shout out to our five PREMIER SPONSORS who are taking advantage of a YEAR'S ADVERTISEMENT! Kim Valverde-Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate, Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate - Zephyr Cove, Carson Welding Inc., Tillson Law, and El Dorado Savings Bank.
  • "Get A Member" SIA Campaign: SIA is having a $100 raffle for those who bring in a new member during this campaign which goes to the end of February. We bring ladies in all year, so let's just keep it up!

Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless seeks community support in keeping people warm this winter

As our Tahoe winter settles in with snow and frigid temperatures, most residents retreat to the inside for activities, comforts, and warm beds in a place we call home. Our South Shore community has been able to sleep better knowing that our homeless population has this option as well. This winter season marks the seventh anniversary of the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH) providing warm beds to the most vulnerable in our community.

They are also in great need for clothing items and will accept donations at their office

Theoffice hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12-4 at the Red Lodge, 1137 Emerald Bay Rd. As the temperature drops they are in need of warm clothes and jackets, gloves, and hand warmers.
