Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

Today's Meeting Review!

President Paula opened our business meeting.

Invocation: How beautiful the leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days. John Burroughs

Lydia reminded us to take a moment to notice and appreciate both the wonder of the natural world around us and our deep feelings for family and friends.

Induction: We welcome new member Nina Gralak. She moved to our area five years ago from Houston, Texas where she was an Internal Auditor. With a daughter in LA, Nina currently volunteers at a food bank in Douglas County. She is excited to become a member of SITS. Take a moment to welcome and get to know her.

Sunshine: May the sun bring you new energy by day. May the moon softly restore you by night. May the rain wash away your worries. May the breeze blow new strength into your being. May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life. If you needed to hear this today, this is for you.

Business Meeting: Minutes from last months business meeting were approved by the membership.

Jean Prestella presented our Financial Report for July 1 -September 30, 2022 as well as the results of our Income and Expense Audits. The audits went well. The board will undertake all recommendations as presented. Thank you to Jean Bergner and Karen Houser, and Kim Valverde and Margie Kovark-, respectively, for their time and energy in conducting the audits. To view documents related to the above, refer to the email sent to members by Lois and Paula last week.

Give Smart Update:

With recommendation from the board, our members voted to honor our contract with Give Smart for the upcoming year (Aug 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023). We have already used this service for our Keith Williams Art Sale and will have it available to use for other events throughout the year as well.

South Tahoe High School Table:

Our members voted to approve up to $1800 to purchase a table for the South Lake Tahoe High School quad. There will be a plaque made for the table that will include our name and a provided inspirational quote. There is a possibility that we will share a table with another group. In this instance, we will also share the cost. The funds go to the Booster Club.

Survey Monkey:

Members will be receiving a Survey Monkey in their inbox sometime this week that will focus on determining how we would like to proceed with fund raising this year. In person? Continue online? Some type of hybrid of the two? There will be a space for a written response as well. Once the board has reviewed the information, we will make time for further discussion. Please take the time to answer the survey. We value the input of all of our members.

Halloween Party:

Plan ahead for our October 27th, Halloween Meeting! You are encouraged to dress up and have fun! More details to follow!
