Today's meeting was opened by President Shelly. A beautiful invocation was created by Lydia that highlighted this special season of Fall. For Lydia, as with many of us, Fall triggers memories. Our memories can be sharp or faint. They may be connected with sights, sounds, or smells. She recalls growing up in the Sacramento area hearing Jimmy Durante and Jim Morrison off in the distance when they performed there. Our autumn in Tahoe is a beautiful one, full of colors, nature getting ready for winter, and more. Get out there and capture your joy of this amazing season.
Today's guests included Joey Wolff and Diana Foster (soon to be member!) Welcome ladies!
We are sending sunshine out to all who need it.

Today's program was all about us! Once a month we focus on our members. It's fun and it's a way to get to know more about each other. President Elect, Lisa Cali led us in a fun team building exercise that had a Gilligan's Island theme, complete with music!
We were placed into four different groups and given the task of our own "3 Hour Tour." We were given seven minutes to discuss as a group what FIVE items we would grab off our our sinking vessel that would be needed to survive on our island.
There were several common items that our ladies would be sure to have: food, matches for just two of the items. One group decided to grab all of the bottles of Champaign! We would grab those because then we'd have vessels to collect fresh water in (after partaking in the bubbles of course) and we could also use the bottle to send messages of "HELP!" The discussions were fun and they also have a point. We learned many things.
- This group enjoys eating and sharing libations. It's how we build our sisterhood.
- We're good collaborators. That's why we get things done.
- Our choices were responsible. That's why the community has faith in our work and why they support our efforts.
And she ended our exercise with yet another fun raffle where several of our ladies got to take home lovely autumn inspired surprises. Thank you Lisa C for such a fun morning!

And one more congratulations goes out to our supporter and woman-extraordinaire, Liz Prestella
who is speaking at the Empowering Women Conference TODAY in Chicago! Her company Torq'd has taken off and we are all so proud of her! Torq'd is a clothing line designed for women by women for the racing and the automotive industries. Every woman in the garage faces the same problem, finding clothes that work for what we do or that will hold up to the day-to-day grind we face without spending a small fortune. That's where Torq'd comes in. The pants are designed to withstand everything our jobs include while still being flattering to the female body and without costing an arm and a leg. You go Liz!

Raising Support for Maui
SUPPORT MAUI: There are fully vetted charities on Maui that are collecting funds for those affected by the tragic Lahaina Fire. Visit HERE for a full list. Through our Soroptimist One Voice Committee, our club sent the Maui Soroptimist Sister Club $1,000. We continue to keep all of them in our hearts.
There will be a local SUPPORT MAUI event being spearheaded by a woman who is a member of Soroptimist of West Maui but also lives in South Lake Tahoe part-time. More on that soon but it looks like it will be at end of Sept.
Our club is also organizing a I Got Lei'd fundraiser. See above to get involved in the planning.
