Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

Our meeting this week was opened by President Shelly.

Invocation: Lydia touched us all with a message about hope. Hope is the expectation that things will improve. 9-11 and its impact was touched upon as was the Presidential run of Jesse Jackson in 1984 whose slogan was "Keep hope alive".

Guests: Karen Miner visited us once again and we hope she will become a regular.

Sunshine: Prayers and love go out to the family of Aubrey from Knits and Knots Tahoe on the loss of her darling girl Story. Healing wishes go out to our Sitster Shirley for her wrist break.

Anniversaries: Nancy 11 years

Diane 12 years

Joann T 23 years

Thank you ladies for all your hard work and for being part of our wonderful club.

Business meeting info:

Today was our monthly business meeting and we got both our General Budget and our Service Budget approved without issue.

The District 5 Fall meeting is happening next Friday evening and Saturday in Fallon. If you want to go see how Soroptimist women get things done, this is for you. Let Shelly know if you'd like to attend.

Our SOLT moment today was a recap of the SDR (Soroptimist Development Retreat) held in Reno recently. Amy, Laurie F, Sandie and Lisa C. attended, Amy and Lisa gave us the scoop on all that they learned. The biggest take away seemed to be that we are bigger than just our club and everyone had fun getting to know each other better and make new friends.

Committee chairs (and everyone else too) please plan to attend Happy Hour at the Tech Cafe: see item below.

Lois was given a ROSE today (Recognition of Soroptimist Excellence) for all she had done for our club as the Finance Committee Chair, treasurer and for this year's budget queen.

Theresa will be given a ROSE soon for all her hard work on Challenge Day!

We have the best, smartest, and most hard working gals ever! thanks for all you do to make our community and lives better!

As we reverently reflect on the events of that momentous day, let us forever cherish the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their unwavering courage and unwavering dedication continue to inspire us to stand united and resilient, undeterred in the face of adversity. We extend our deepest gratitude to these exceptional heroes who selflessly serve our communities, safeguarding our well-being day in and day out.
