Enhancing the lives of women and youth

in our community and the world.

Each Thursday, our members and guests are greeted by these lovely ladies. Already the day begins in a positive way! We're sending a big hug to our ladies who couldn't make it to today's meeting.

Today's meeting was opened by President Shelly on this beautiful Lake Tahoe morning!

Invocation -was presented by Lydia and it reflected her recent travels to Cambodia and Vietnam. She was inspired by the beauty of both the country and the people. She appreciated their kindness and gentleness. It inspired her thoughts about forgiveness in our lives. "To forgive others not because they deserve it, but forgive others because it will bring you peace."

Welcomed guests today included: Diana Foster and Karen Miner. Loved seeing both of you and rumor has it, Diana is joining!

Sunshine goes out to The friends and family of Doug Forte. His celebration of live will be at Paradise park Saturday, Sept 9 at 10AM. And we're all thrilled that our JoAnn T got home safely from Burning Man!

For those who missed our Jen of Zawadisha here's her latest newsletter information.

Today's program focused on our members!

Our ladies take every opportunity to learn about each other and we especially like it when it's done through a game! Today President Elect Lisa Cali ran us through a great game of Two Lies and One Truth! Our women love a challenge and they began by secretly writing about themselves.

Once everyone had their information completed, Lisa C collected them and that's when the fun began! We learned who were sky divers, who went out on the lake with Peter of Peter, Paul, and Mary, who was a ski bartender server in the French Alps for years, who's allergic to apples, who is planning a trip to Florida, who has the world's most rarest blood type, and much more! Thank you Lisa for the fun "ice breaker", it was a great way to know more about our Sitsters!

Challenge Day Volunteers needed!

A SITS supported opportunity for all of us and your friends!

South Tahoe High School will be having their Challenge Day event on September 11,12, and 13. However, signups are happening THIS WEEK at SLT High School Challenge Days. TASK (Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids) needs volunteers for all three days from 8:15 to 3:15. Our contact on this is Theresa so direct an email to her for more information at tahoesafekids@gmail.com. Volunteers are only asked to spend a few hours with 4-5 kids in a small group. The program will be facilitated by professionals and lunch will be provided. This is a very rewarding way to connect with kids in our community.
