Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Returns to San Jose

Apple is for the second time holding its 29th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose in 2018. From June 4 through June 8, San Jose's McEnery Convention Center will be home to the world's most creative developer community, who come together every year to share unique perspectives and learn about the future of Apple's breakthrough products and services.

Last year's WWDC was attended by thousands of developers from  75 countries for keynote sessions, hands-on labs, guest speakers and events. Visit Apple's developer site for information and tickets.

HardwareCon Explores Internet of Things (IoT) and More

San Jose's Convention Center is hosting an in-depth technology hardware convention, HardwareCon, April 19-20, 2018 -- the takeaway: Hardware is Making a Comeback. 

Greg Fisher, co-founder and CEO of Berkeley Sourcing Group and founder of HardwareCon, reflects on the trajectory of hardware companies, and offers suggestions for survival.

Tea Alley Brings Asian Teas and Treats to Downtown SJ

Located at 40 North First Street, Tea Alley was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting that brought City staff and Council District 3 staff to help owner Jess Shih with the giant scissors.

OED Will Sponsor Silicon Valley Leadership Group Regional Economic Forum 4/13
OED is a sponsor for the 2018 Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) Regional Economic Forum, to be held in Campbell, Calif., April 13.

 The subjects to be explored by a panels of regional experts are Housing, Economic Inequality, Sustainability and Workforce/Education. The half-day event focused on solutions rather than debate, and is expected to attract upwards of 400 attendees.

SCU Student Card Payment Option for SJ Retailers

With a quick swipe, Santa Clara University's student access card allows students easy on-campus purchases of food, library check-outs and access to dorms and gym.  Now, through the Vendor Flex Program, the card can be used off-campus for retail purchases, and  San Jose vendors can now take advantage of the Vendor Flex Program.

Newmark Knight Frank moves into Santana Row


Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) is relocating its Silicon Valley office to Santana Row. NKF will locate 65 staff from its Santa Clara office to 18,451 square feet of space at 3055 Olin Avenue above Park Valencia by summer 2018.

NKF is also the leasing broker for 700 Santana Row, a 291,000 square-foot office building under construction with a sweeping, signature plaza-encircling design that anchors the end of Santana Row. The state-of-the-art eight-story structure, featuring 30,000 and 50,000 square-foot floorplates and modern architecture, offers headquarters-quality office space whose concrete construction gives it distinctive design qualities compared to traditional Silicon Valley offices.
