Thursday, March 6: San José Small Business Advisory Committee Meeting

San José's Small Business Advisory Committee will hold its next quarterly meeting this Thursday, March 6 at 5 p.m..

The mission of the committee is to advocate for small businesses, promote entrepreneurship, and continue to make San José an ideal place to do business.

Agenda items include a new policy agenda for California small businesses, a discussion on services provided by the City's Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department, an all-Spanish entrepreneurship program for women, and a recap of the City's holiday shop local campaign.

Disability Access Improvement Grants for Small Businesses

San José small business owners: The City's Disability Access Improvement Grants program will support your responsibility to comply with the federal Americans with Disability Act and the California Building Code. The grant will help you pay for a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) report and to hire professionals to design and remove ADA barriers. More information about qualifying for grant assistance.

The South Bay Artist Summit, Thursday, March 14, 1 p.m. at San José City Hall

SVCREATES and Content magazine, in partnership with the San José Office of Culture Affairs, bring you an inspiring afternoon featuring conversations with artists about building sustainable careers, informative workshops on business skills for creatives, an artist resource fair, food, and networking.

The afternoon will culminate in the Content Pick-Up Party for issue 17.2 "Connect.”
