Students Recognized at Harvard Model Congress

Two St. Johnsbury Academy students have been recognized for their accomplishments at the Harvard Model Congress, held virtually in February. Junior Payton Molleur (r) of Greensboro Bend, VT, and Brooke White, of East Ryegate, VT, received honorable mention for their work. Harvard Model Congress (HMC) is an annual three-day simulation of the United States Government, held in Boston, MA.

SJA Celebrates Earth Day

Due to the scheduling of April break, St. Johnsbury Academy celebrated Earth Day early in Chapel on Thursday, April 15th, when junior and National Honor Society member Josie Sestito announced the donation of an electric vehicle for the school's Driver's Education Program. The donation of the 2021 Chevrolet Bolt is made possible by Abel Toll, owner of the Autosaver Group, which includes 12 auto dealerships in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. 

SJA Students Tops in Green Mountain Scholar's Bowl

On Saturday, March 6, Plattsburgh State University Upward Bound hosted the 17th annual Green Mountain Scholar’s Bowl competition, held virtually for the first time. The event was two hours long and consisted of 8 teams of Upward Bound scholars from seven different programs. The competing programs were: Castleton, UVM, and NVU-Lyndon and Johnson Upward Bound from Vermont, Keene State Upward Bound from New Hampshire, and Plattsburgh State, and SUNY Adirondack Upward Bound from New York. Forty-seven students participated in total.

The NVU-Lyndon team included SJA juniors Maple Bottinelli and Madison Wilson, senior Miranda Degreenia, and LI sophomore Chelesa Ott.

Spring 2021 Home Athletic Event Spectator Policy

Visiting Team Expectations
• Prior to arrival on campus athletes & coaches should pass a health screening
• Water will be provided for all teams to fill individual water bottles
• Portalets will be available for use at each event
 
All Spectators
• Spectators are responsible for their own health monitoring prior to arrival on campus
• All spectators will be required to sign-in upon entrance to an event for contact-tracing
• Spectators should be limited to 2 per athlete or coach for any SJA hosted event
• Masks must be worn at all times during the event
• Proper physical distancing should be observed at all times
• Portalets will be available for use at each event
