HEADMASTER'S MESSAGE

On Being Present

Aside from sunshine, there are few things that improve life more fundamentally than being as present as possible for it.

By being “present,” I don’t necessarily mean simple “attendance”–at school, say–although right now many of us in the business would settle for that as a start. Athletics Calendar

We are now using Arbiter as our Athletics Calendar as part of an initiative by the VPA. For this reason, athletic events no longer appear on the school calendar on the website. They can be accessed through the Athletics Calendar on the website or you can bookmark this link for the most up-to-date Hilltopper game and practice times and final scores.

AROUND CAMPUS

Senior Maaike Dam recently won the Jon Borowicz Memorial Music Scholarship. In addition to winning the $500 scholarship, this gives Maaike the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra at their winter concerts in February. To apply for the scholarship, applicants were required to prepare three pieces. Additionally, Maaike has been selected to perform as a soloist with the Vermont Youth Orchestra at their concert at the Flynn Theater in Burlington on February 11.

The four finalists in the school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition (clockwise from upper left) Donley Johnson, Marcus Burns, Cris Rosales, and Greer Kennedy, presented their poems in Chapel last week. View their performances here.

The Winter Concert was held last night in South Church Hall. Click here to watch the performances.

This week, students in some of the Career and Technical Education classes displayed their projects in the dining hall. To see them, click here.
