Automotive Shop Purchases New Tire Balancer


The Introduction to Automotive students have been learning to balance tires with Mr. Miller on the school's new Hunter tire balancer. Cross Country Team Finishes Sixth at Nationals


Members of the Cross Country team (and two runners from BFA-St. Albans) ran their way to a sixth-place team finish at last weekend's 2022 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in College Station, Texas. The team included Porter Hurteau and Teddy Tremblay from BFA-St. Albans and Carson Eames, Nathaniel Bernier, Isaac Lanzini, Nathan Lenzini, Ari Leven, and Andrew Thornton-Sherman. Emmet Quinn Honored


Emmet Quinn was honored last week at the Vermont Alliance for Social Studies at their annual conference, the first since 2019. Emmet was honored in 2021 as the Gilder Lehrman Teacher of the year for Vermont. Attending the event were Social Studies Department Chair Dave Eckhardt, and teachers Lucas Weiss, Ryan Cushman, Peter Mantius, Glenn Ehrean, Stephen Levesque, and Denise Scavitto.

Students Participate at Model UN


Students participated in a Model UN event at St. John's Prep last weekend. Representing SJA were Hannah MacDonald, Mr. Ehrean, Liam Markey, Thaeden Augsberger-Skala, Max Weber, Fernanda Bustamente Falcon, Keyao Evelyn Zhao, Eric Chen, Yubo Zhang, Yi Joey Zhuo, Qikang Austen Ruan, Mr. Cushman, Carson Farnham, and Maaike Dam. Missing from the photo is Faith Lawton.

AROUND CAMPUS

The Hilltones gave a sneak peek of their Holiday Concert in Chapel on Tuesday. Their performance can be seen here. The Holiday Concert is at 7:OO PM on Wednesday, December 14, in South Church. It will be streamed live at this link.

Members of the Class of 2026 were all about the ugly holiday sweaters on Tuesday.

The Charles Hosmer Morse Center for the Arts is filled with student creations this week. To see more fantastic art and video projects, click here.

The holiday season always means gingerbread houses at SJA. Chef Hale's and Chef Bystrzycki's students were up to the task. More of their sweet construction projects can be viewed here.

Students at The Hilltopper Restaurant held an Open House this week to showcase their newfound skills.  As part of their research projects, the students were assigned a certain region, learning about the ingredients, and popular dishes.

Mr. Mitchell and his welding students stand behind the newly installed gate at the Barker Avenue entrance to campus. The class began the design phase in August and installed them this week.

Chef Bystrzycki and her students baked over 900 cupcakes to celebrate the school's 180th birthday on Tuesday.

Students in Mr. Stark's woodworking classes and Mr. Mitchell's welding classes displayed their final projects in the Dining Hall this week. To see more of their projects, click here.
