Post-Season Honors

Brandon Legendre '13 has been selected as Vermont's Boys' Cross Country Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Coach Legendre led the team to their fourth consecutive D1 State Title in his first year after taking over the program from Coach Chip Langmaid '80, who passed away last summer. The team also finished fifth at the New England Regional Championships and sixth at the Nike Cross Country Northeast Regionals, the highest finish by any Vermont school ever at the event. The tenth annual High School Cross Country Coaches of the Year awards are presented by the United States Marine Corps.

Esther (Brown, '08) and Adam Hodges-LeClaire spent most of the summer of 2024 walking the Via Francigena from Canterbury, England, to Rome, Italy. Adam is a public historian and tailor by profession and Esther is an architect with a focus on historic structures. Adam worked at Fort Ticonderoga for a number of years and now runs his own business, AHL Tailor and Naval Clothier. Esther spent the past eleven years working in the architecture field in Boston and now has her own firm, Johnston House Studio. Both Adam and Esther enjoy adventures, especially those focusing on history and architecture.

Senior Ads and Yearbook Sales

Senior ads are now on sale for families who want to celebrate their graduate. Ads can be purchased until January 31, 2025.

Yearbooks can also be purchased now. The cost is $60. For senior families, please remember that your student will receive a book as part of the fee they pay in the spring for their cap and gown and prom tickets.

AROUND CAMPUS

Employees from Momentum Manufacturing in St. Johnsbury visited the SJA Robotics team at their weekly club meeting after school last week. The students shared their robot design and the Momentum staff offered a number of suggestions where the students might see improvement in the robot’s performance, including repeatability, cycle times, intake, and how the programming can be used to improve these. The visit offered the students a chance to collaborate with professionals and leaders in the field and conveyed a sense of faith and confidence in the students, validity of what they are doing, and inspiration to see how far they can go.

Students in Mr. Stark's Intro to Woodworking class were busy planing boards as they prepare for their next project.

Earning points towards this week's Indoor Track and Field Track Championships at UVM were senior Sophia Rizzo (above, second in the weight throw) and juniors Jeremiah Watson (third place in the weight throw and third place in the shot put) and Maceo Kramar (fifth place in the shot put).
