Scholars' Bowl


Saturday's cold weather couldn't stop Mr. Callanan and the Scholars' Bowl team on the first day of state competition in Montpelier. The Varsity team finished 3-1 with their only loss against CVU with a score of 280-275. The JV team finished with a perfect record at 4-0. Congratulations to (l-r) Charlie Peralez '27, Aleksey Strokanov '27, Marcus Burns '26, Raine Rashid '27, Jonah Raser '27, Phoebe Donn '27, Poppy Shattuck '27, Sophie White '27, and Conall Kennedy '29.

Poetry Out Loud


The school's Poetry Out Loud finalists performed for a second time in Chapel last week. Clockwise from upper left: Donley Johnson 26', Hanna Lengyel '27, Marcus Burns '26, and Everett Blake '26. Marcus was named the winner and will compete at the state competition in February. Hanna was named the runner-up.

Valentines Dance. This is a semi-formal dance to be held in the Dining Hall from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. The cost is $ 3 per person or $5 per couple.

Senior Ads and Yearbook Sales


Senior ads are now on sale for families who want to celebrate their graduate. Ads can be purchased until February 28, 2026.


Yearbooks can also be purchased now. The cost is $60. For senior families, please remember that your student will receive a book as part of the fee they pay in the spring for their cap and gown and prom tickets.

AROUND CAMPUS

Playwright Shoshannah Boray, has been working with students in Mrs. MacKenzie's creative writing classes to create their one-act plays, which they will submit to the Young Playwrights' Festival. The students will attend the festival in Burlington this May. Some of the plays will be performed by Mr. Kane's acting classes at school later this spring

Members of the Class of 2026 made chili and chocolate chip cookies to sell at last week's basketball games. The funds raised will go toward the end-of-year events for seniors, like the prom and their class gift.

During halftime of last week's girls' varsity basketball game, students showcased their favorite team shirts in a fashion show.

Mr. Rowe and The Hilltones performed the National Anthem before last week's girls' basketball game. The video can be viewed here.

Students in Mr. Reed's chemistry class are studying ionic bonds and chemical reactions this week.

ATHLETICS

Congratulations to senior Connor Decker, who reached the 100-Win milestone last weekend at the Commodore Invitational Wrestling Tournament hosted at Vergennes High School.
