Greer Kennedy Reaches Poetry Out Loud State Finals


Junior Greer Kennedy will compete in the Vermont Poetry Out Loud finals tomorrow night at the Flynn Theater in Burlington and we had one more chance to see her practice in Chapel this morning. View today's Chapel performance here.

Track Team Sets Records at Nationals



Jaden Beardsley '23, Andrew Bugbee '24, Gerardo Fernandez '23, Nathaniel Bernier '24, Carson Eames '24, Andrew Thornton-Sherman '25, and Coach Langmaid attended the New Balance National Championships held at The TRACK in Boston last weekend. On Saturday, Andrew Thornton-Sherman placed 27th out of 81 in the 800m and was the top sophomore in the Championship race.  On Sunday, the boys' 4x800 relay of Fernandez, Bernier, Eames, and Thornton-Sherman, shattered the Vermont state record as they ran to 24th place overall.  On Friday, the Sprint Medley team of Bugbee, Beardsley, Fernandez, and Thornton-Sherman raced to 5th place. The boys ran the fastest SMR ever run by Vermont athletes indoors or out. By finishing in the top 6, the boys earned All-American status in the event and finished the season ranked 5th overall in the nation.

Basketball Team Presents Plaque


Members of the Varsity Basketball team, Kaylee Weaver '23, Lilian Kittredge '23, Emma Greenan '24, and Kaia Anderson '24, presented their Division 1 Runner-Up plaque to Mrs. Hanson in Chapel last week. Photos from the title game can be viewed here.

Floor Hockey Champs!


Ninth Graders Jake Emerson, James Hatch, Ryder Smith, Phineas Huntington, and Carson Finn took the top prize in Friday's Funday Floor Hockey Tournament. Photos from the event can be seen here.

AROUND CAMPUS

Math Club has been busy preparing for today's UVM Math Contest. The two-hour exam is open to high school students throughout the state.

Mrs. McGarvin spoke to Dr. Sayarath's Genetics and Biotechnology classes about her experiences as a gestational surrogate. She explained the process, needs, and bioethics behind this practice. Surrogacy utilizes in vitro fertilization for assisted reproduction to help people grow their families when they do not have the ability to carry a pregnancy of their own.

Mr. Bugbee's Intro to Construction Technology class installed additional storage shelves in Christensen Dorm.

Activities from the Italy trip included a bike tour of Florence, a day trip to Venice, a pizza & gelato cooking class, a formal dinner in Santo Spirito, dinners at the apartment, and printmaking at il Bisonte. Photos from the trip can be viewed here.
