13th Annual Graham S. Newell Declamation Contest

Students recently recited poems as part of the 13th Annual Graham S. Newell Declamation Contest. The winner of the contest will represent SJA in the state-wide Poetry Out Loud Competition in the spring. The students advancing to the next round are Greer Kennedy '24, Alice Nelson '22, Rea Leonie Voigtlander '22, and Madison Wilson '22. We have several Adult Education courses beginning this month, including two classes on Effective Employee Evaluations (part of our leadership series), and Chef B will be teaching Perfect Pies & Thanksgiving Desserts on November 23. To learn more, click here

Mr. Rowe and the band performed at the court house as part of the town's observance of Veteran's Day. More photos from the day can be viewed here.
On campus, the Sophomore Class and their advisors wrote letters of gratitude to share with local veterans.
Members of the Farm and Garden Club took advantage of the weather last week to tend to the Melissa Jenkins Garden. They added mulch, bulbs and a couple new trees.
The Boys' Cross Country team competed at the New England Championships on Saturday. Led by Senior Evan Thornton-Sherman's 6th place finish, SJA finished 13th in the team standings. That marked tied the team's best finish at the event. Photos from the race can be viewed here.
Mrs. Loder's Clay I students have been creating beautiful butter dishes, bud vases, mugs, and canisters in class. To see more, click here.
