Emmet Quinn Named 2021 VT History Teacher of the Year
St. Johnsbury Academy's Emmet Quinn has been named the 2021 State History Teacher of the Year by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the nation's leading organization dedicated to K-12 American history education.
In 2021, parents, students, teachers, and administrators nationwide nominated a record 8,510 teachers for the History Teacher of the Year Award.

Steve Jolliffe Receives University of Chicago Outstanding
Educator Award
St. Johnsbury Academy’s Steven Jolliffe has received the University of Chicago Outstanding Educator Award. Mr. Jolliffe serves as the Academy’s English Department Chair; and teaches AP Research, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Language and Composition; and ran the AP Summer Institute for Teachers for over a decade.

A member of the Codecraft Club uses a 3D pen to create a 3D "drawing." In Codecraft Club, students have faculty and peer support to pursue personal projects that make use of the suite of tools available in the Sweeney Applied Engineering Center (maker space). Projects typically focus on digital design and rapid prototyping using tools like our 3d printer, laser and vinyl cutters, professional design software, computer programming, and electronics bench.

Mrs. Mackenzie's AP Literature classes welcomed Shanta Lee Gander into their classroom last week. Ms. Gander is a poet, novelist, investigative reporter, and photographer from southern Vermont who shared some of her poetry and story ideas with the classes. In the afternoon. Ms. Gander spoke to a larger group in the Black Box Theater. |
