HEADMASTER’S MESSAGE
Where We Stand

Last Thursday morning, St. Johnsbury Academy woodworking teacher Matt Stark, Student Body President Sierra Shippee, and I waited at the foot of the stairs to Fuller Hall stage to start the Chapel livestream. It’s been oddly quiet and dark in that space these days, but the air still hums around the stage and in the surrounding shadows. Certainly, on this morning, Mr. Stark seemed excited. As we chatted, I noticed that the podium on the stage was different. It was new, very beautifully worked wood, stained several shades. I said as much.

AROUND CAMPUS
Culinary I students have been busy even though The Hilltopper is closed right now. Today they were baking crumb coffeecakes.
Mr. Stark '96 presented a new podium to Dr. Howell and the school during Chapel last week. Mr. Stark and his students spent time studying Fuller Hall and incorporated design elements from the room into the new podium. Some of those elements, like the keystone (see inset) that is above the stage can be seen in the final product. Students from the Class of 2020 and 2021 also helped with the construction.
Students in Mr. Jones' science class worked together to record what they found contained in specific grids along the edge of Brantview Lawn.
Thank you to Maely Brightman and Lauren Trombley for their artwork outside of Christensen Hall. It added some great color to a grey day.
We've added more photos to our SmugMug account his week, including plenty of JV action. Click here to view photos from our JV football, field hockey and volleyball teams.
