The 2019 Catholic Athletic League Varsity Cheerleading Competition will be held this Saturday, Feb. 2nd at Cardinal Newman High School Gym WPB. Ticket sales begin at 10:00 am and the price of admission is $4.00 a person. Doors open to spectators at 10:30 am and lock shortly after.
There are seven Catholic Schools competing this year so we encourage and welcome our SJA fans to come out and raise your Spirit for our All Star Cheerleaders. Spirit makers will be provided! RAPTOR SECURITY SYSTEM

The Diocese of Palm Beach, has implemented this security system to all the schools in our Diocese, for visitors, volunteers and contractors/vendors
 to utilize.
Parent volunteer should wear BOTH their:
1) St. Joan ID badge lanyard and
2) the Raptor system lanyard.
Parent volunteers, visitors and contractors/vendors need to sign-in via Raptor system, located in the main office.
Parents who are volunteering will need their driver’s license.
Parent volunteers must wear the additional lanyard that says “volunteer” attached to the clear sleeve that has his/her Raptor sticker in it when volunteering at the school.

Dear SJA Pre-K4 through 8th Grade Parents, 

We continue to offer IXL.com in the following subjects:
 ELA (Pre-K through 12), Science (2 through 8), Social Studies (2 through 8), and 
Math (Pre-K through 12).
IXL can help with remediation, practice, and further enrichment in and out of the classroom. Your child's teacher may assign one or several specific skills to do at home which coincide with the curriculum
or with a learning gap.

If you have an Apple product (iPad/ iPhone) or another SMART device (i.e. Android),
you may want to download the IXL app.  
In order to use IXL, log onto   IXL .com .
Your child's username is his/ her student ID @stjoan (i.e. br102@stjoan) and password is only his/ her username
(i.e. br102).  

If your child achieves between an 85 -100, that skill is considered mastered.

To cover costs related to athletics, athletes will be charged a $25 sports fee for each sport in which they participate to a maximum of three per year.
Physicals must be up-to-date in order to participate in tryouts.

STUDENT DISMISSAL POLICY

Early dismissal for students can be very disruptive to the class.
Early Dismissals are requested to be scheduled at the beginning of the last period.

No student will be dismissed between
2:00 pm and 2:45 pm.

IF FOR ANY REASON YOU NEED TO PICK-UP YOUR CHILD EARLY, PLEASE PLAN AHEAD AND BE HERE BEFORE 1:55 PM.

JA baseball caps for sale for $20, in the school office. Students may wear their St. Joan labeled hats at PE and at recess for sun safety purposes.
PE WISH LIST
St. Joan's PE Program is in need of (hockey) indoor/ outdoor "borders" to keep equipment from traveling to the other side of the Sports Arena and Athletic Field, as well as, out of the bleachers (keeps the momentum of the class going). The borders are also used to facilitate student activities taking place simultaneously. 
Ideally it would be great to have the whole set, though the cost would be around $6,000, whereas, getting a few sections are about $200 each.
If you're able to donate for one or more of the borders, we would greatly appreciate this tax deductible gift. Your donation can count toward service hours.

On Thursday, 1/24, the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and School Mission and Finance Council met at their regular scheduled meeting to review and approve the 2019-20 School Tuition. The committee meets six times per year.
SJA's Annual Career Day
Saint Joan of Arc's 4th Annual Career Day on January 28th, 2019 was the biggest one yet with over 30 presenters! Grades Pre-K3 - 8th heard from professionals in a variety of fields such as medicine, law, marketing, journalism, business, mental health, technology, financial, design, architecture and more! Career Day couldn't have been made possible without the generous support of parents and community service professionals who volunteered their time to make Career Day special. Thank you, Miss Bryant, for coordinating this outstanding event for our students!
National Junior Honor Society 2019 Inductees

In celebration of Catholic schools and the excellent education they provide, it was more than fitting to conduct the NJHS inductions ceremony during Catholic Schools Week. These students modeled service, leadership, scholarship, character and citizenship. There were 8 new members inducted to NJHS between grades 6-8.
