Hello {First Name}

May is Older Americans Month—a time to honor the strength, wisdom, and lifelong contributions of our older community members.

At the Seniors Job Bank, we see this every day. Mature workers bring unmatched experience, reliability, and purpose to the workplace and to the lives they touch. By uplifting their talents, we build stronger intergenerational connections and foster opportunities that benefit all of us.

Let’s continue to celebrate older Americans—not just this month, but throughout the year. Their experience is one of our greatest assets!

Best regards,

Robin Clare, Executive Director

Birdies for Charity is Back!

The Travelers Championship golf tournament, with its Birdies for Charity program, helps nonprofits raise awareness and funds to support their missions.

The Seniors Job Bank is participating again this year. Your contribution will help us extend our services to even more neighborhoods, connecting seniors with meaningful job opportunities and vital resources through our “Bridging Communities: Expanding Into Your Neighborhood” initiative.

What makes Birdies special is that when you donate to SJB through Birdies, Webster Bank adds 15% to your gift, so your generosity is magnified.... as is the Seniors Job Bank's ability to deliver our free service.

Donating is easy!

  • Donating online: Go to our website and click on the donation button to contribute: https://seniorsjobbankct.org/. Birdies for Charity covers all credit card and online processing fees, so 100% of your contribution will go to the Seniors Job Bank.

  • Donating by check: Since the Birdies program only accommodates checks for at least $200, please make those payable to Birdies for Charity and mail to: Seniors Job Bank, 50 South Main Street, Suite 216, West Hartford, CT 06107. We'll take care of getting your check to the Birdies office.
  • Checks for smaller amounts can be made payable to Seniors Job Bank.

Get to Know the SJB Board

Bob Rau,

Strategic Planning Committee

I joined up as a handyperson and later became an SJB Board member. I thought this was a great opportunity to stay busy and earn a little money working for people within the greater Hartford area.

For me, the SJB goes beyond the basic job opportunities it offers enhancing the quality of the lives of the people that it supports.

Feedback on Volunteers

Since posting with you, we have seven individuals who have reached out to join our volunteer program. They are at different stages of the onboarding process but we hope to welcome all of them to our fantastic team of over 270 volunteers. – Scott M., Hartford Stage
