Dear Cathedral,
I don’t exactly know how to describe the feeling that I had the first Sunday we were able to sing in church. As we processed down the aisle and I heard your voices, I was struck with the beauty and power of being present with one another in three dimensions. It was awesome!
As we move into the summer months, we will continue to offer virtual worship by live streaming at 10 a.m. and in-person worship at 8 and 10 a.m. every Sunday. The in-person worship will include a socially distant chapel with communion distributed in small cups. The high altar has now returned to our traditional way of distributing communion, with wafers placed in the hand and a chalice full of wine. Please come and participate as you see fit.
People are emerging with such joy but also with a kind of wisdom and insight. Many have voiced to me their desire to not just “jump into the fray” but continue to take time for silence and alone time. We have been changed forever.
And, I do believe that this time of pandemic has deepened our awareness of our dependence on God and our need for a faithful community. I felt you with me the whole time we were separated. We were the Body of Christ even when we could not see each other face to face.
I have said before that I have the best view on Sunday mornings. As you look at the altar and cross, I look upon your faces. Except those faces were gone for a long time. It's so good to see you again!
With love in Christ,
Kate+

Diocese of Florida Prayer for the Election of Our Bishop
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, we pray that you would look graciously upon the Diocese of Florida, and so guide the minds and hearts of the Nominating Committee as they prayerfully select candidates for the election of the next bishop of this diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: Guide also the minds and hearts of the candidates who will come before the Nominating Committee, that this process will be a time of discernment and growth in their lives and ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
