Dear People of God,
We are coming close to the end of the Great Feast of Easter. This Sunday, we will celebrate Jesus’ ascension into heaven and the following Sunday is the Day of Pentecost and the arrival of the Holy Spirit among us. On Sunday, May 30, we begin a summer schedule with services in person at 8 and 10 a.m. in the Cathedral. The virtual service will remain at 10 a.m. but will be livestreamed. For the first time since the pandemic began, our virtual congregation and our in-person congregation will worship together! This hybrid model seems to be the way of the future.
You will find a special gift in your mailbox soon. It is the newly upgraded Cathedral Quarterly. Now a more scholarly publication, the Quarterly is just beautiful and it contains some very valuable teaching and instruction. Please read it carefully and pray about your support system as we move into the summer months.
In these rapidly changing times, it is vital that all who want to follow Jesus do so in community and that means a group of disciples around you. Do you have a prayer group? Do you have a friend with whom you can discuss your faith? Find them. It is absolutely fine for you to meet on Zoom or virtually. And if you need our help, please don’t hesitate to contact me or our director of formation and spirituality, Owene Courtney.
May God bless you and keep you.
In Christ’s love,
Kate+

Ascension!
God passes through, to infinite of dimensions
Reaching through our mundane, with magnanimous intention
Author of every invention, returns Her fullest self-extension
Where love engulfs everything within gravitas of creation
When the spirit passes into the light
Night manifests the day, and day adores calm night
Not lumens, but souls essence seeing, calibrating
Journeys to living, atoning blessed heart of being
Carrying all living creation with energy, by ascending
Integrates “dark matter”, with light, soul’s new assessing
Christus Resurrexit, walks He, one bridge of timeless causality,
Truth and faith reveal origin, yet attest of eventuality!
As is confessed: God is good, for all time?
Spirit is truth, yes, for it proves us divine!
Join we His finishing, raising, defeating this our death,
Inheriting surely, eternal, synchronous, sacred breath!

Diocese of Florida Prayer for the Election of Our Bishop
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, we pray that you would look graciously upon the Diocese of Florida, and so guide the minds and hearts of the Nominating Committee as they prayerfully select candidates for the election of the next bishop of this diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries: Guide also the minds and hearts of the candidates who will come before the Nominating Committee, that this process will be a time of discernment and growth in their lives and ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
