A Message From The President
Mr. Freund
Dear SJCA families,

A St. Joseph Catholic Academy education is a tremendous investment in a child's future, but it is also a significant sacrifice for most parents.

The SJCA Board of Trustees and administration do everything in their power to ensure the affordability, accessibility and sustainability of a St. Joseph Catholic Academy education not just for today, but for generations to come.

Tuition covers roughly 70% of the cost to educate each student at SJCA. The balance must be realized through fundraising efforts such as the "All That Glitters is Blue and Gold" Annual Auction and the Annual Fund. The success of these endeavors St. Joseph Catholic Academy to fulfill its mission and continue to nurture and shape the minds, hearts, and spirits of tomorrow's leaders. It is only through your generosity and support that we can continue to impact and influence the young people in our community.

Please mark the evening of November 9th on your calendar and plan to join us at the Auction for a memorable evening of excitement and camaraderie. Also, please prayerfully consider a gift to this year's Annual Fund. You will be receiving an Annual Fund mailer and auction invitation in the next couple of weeks. Please try to support both of these fundraising campaigns. Your generosity and support allow us to offer a preschool through high school learning environment rooted in the teachings of the Catholic faith and committed to a dynamic student experience that develops the scholars, leaders, and stewards who will transform the world. Click here to donate to the annual fund and click here register for the auction.

Best regards,
Bob Freund

Mr. Rizzo
Dear Middle School families:

It is hard to believe that our first quarter is coming to an end this Friday. We have enjoyed a great start to the school year. Many of the highlights from our great start would include, but are not limited to: Homecoming Week spirit days, our Lincoln Park activities day, a door decorating contest, the All School Grotto Dedication Mass, a service day at Feed My Starving Children, weekly celebrations at our Monday Morning Middle School meetings, September Lancer Value Student of the Month awards and our first round of ACT Aspire Interim testing. We have packed a lot in during the first quarter, and we have much more planned as the year unfolds.

Next week, we have our Parent-Teacher Conferences. With our teachers’ exceptional guidance and teaching, our students have demonstrated growth, academically, spiritually and in service, every day. The Staff and I look forward to seeing you on October 23 rd  or 24 th  to review your student’s progress!

Lower Campus News
Mrs. Santarelli
Dear SJCA parents,

This time of year marks the end of the first quarter of school. It's hard to believe we are already one-fourth of the way through the school year.  As I walk the halls, stop in classrooms, and meet with grade-level teams I am very impressed with the dedication to high expectations for learning.

While there was no school for students last week Friday, the teachers, and the administration had a very productive day of learning, planning, and collaborating. Both of the campus staff members gathered all day for a professional day of learning. We studied our student data results, discussed curricular celebrations and also focused on areas that need improvement. Teachers worked together across grade levels to write action plans and the next steps for helping to improve student learning. We also had several sessions on technology resources, student engagement, standards-based-grading, and English-Language Learners that were presented by KUSD staff as well as our own teachers.

As we plan for Parent-Teacher Conference s in a few weeks, please make sure you are learning about the ways you can support your child's academic and social growth at home. Thank you for being our partners on this educational journey.

Friday, October 18th, is our Grandparent / V.I.P. Day.  All guests are welcome. We will begin the day in St. Mark Church at 8:00 a.m. Following our prayer service, guests are invited to visit the classrooms with their grandchildren and to stop in our gym to take a photo and visit the book fair. New this year, SJCA spirit wear will be available for purchase. The event runs from 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. and is sponsored by our Parent Association. It is always such a special day for students and guests. We look forward to seeing our grandparents on Friday.

Blessings,
Mrs. Santarelli
