SJCS Parents,

Spring Parent/Teacher Conference Day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024. School will not be in session that day. All homeroom teachers and several specials teachers will be available from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm for conferences with parents.

We encourage parents to take advantage of the opportunity to visit with your child(ren)'s teacher(s), however, conferences are not mandatory.

The deadline for signing up for a conference will be

Friday, February 16 at 3:00 pm.

For parents of students in PreK - 5th grade and Specials, please email your homeroom teacher(s) directly to schedule a conference. All of our PreK - 5th grade and specials teachers are prepared to schedule conferences now by email.

For parents of students in 6th, 7th or 8th grades (Middle School) who would like to schedule a conference with one or more subject area teachers (Math, Science, Religion, English or Literature), please CLICK HERE to access a sign-up genius to schedule your conference(s).

AUCTION NEWS!

The auction committee needs your support. In the month of February, we hope you will show us some love by purchasing a gift card of your choice to donate to the auction. You may purchase a gift card from any location but we are in need of AirBnb and restaurant gift cards. The gift cards can be purchased anywhere, but please consider purchasing through RaiseRight - details are found in your Friday folder.

Save the date! Kids Derby Dress Up Day will be held on Friday, March 1st. We will be taking pictures of our racers in their derby finest for our auction program. Please bring $5 to participate in this free dress day. Hats and fascinators should be taken off for mass.

Want to win 4 tickets to see the Allen Americans on Friday, April 12th? Join us, Friday, March 1st, for an auction crafting night. Bring your favorite snack and we will provide the drinks. Enjoy fellowship with other parents as we follow a simple tutorial to make decorations for the auction. No crafting experience needed! RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/diy-derby-party-tickets-827211661347?aff=oddtdtcreator

We live in a world full of noise, chaos, and busy schedules. Many of us lack a true interior peace. But what if there was a different way? Christ offers us a peace that far surpasses any peace this world can give. Join us for our 2024 Lenten Mission, February 26-28, as the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal lead us to encounter the true and triumphant peace of Christ. We will offer talks in both English & Spanish and free child care will be available.

Just a reminder that Valentine's Day Snack Parties will be held Tuesday, February 13th. Students may wear Valentine's Shirts with their school uniform.

We will attend Mass as a community on Wednesday, February 14th, for Ash Wednesday at 8:00am. This marks the beginning of Lent; a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal.

Parents, please make every effort to have your children arrive to school by 7:45 am each School Mass day. Thank you!

The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders read books from the Texas Bluebonnet list this year and voted on the one they liked the best. The winning book from our school was Invisible, by Christina Diaz Gonzalez and Gabriela Epstein.

We celebrated with a blue themed party and drawing to see who would win the Bluebonnet Bear. We will send our votes to the Texas Library Association and a state winner will soon be announced.

Congratulations to Maddox Lopez in 3rd grade the winner of the Bear in our drawing from those that read 9 or more of the 18 books we voted on.

Congratulations to Erin Nguyen on placing 1st in the 7/8th grade division of the Catholic Schools Week

Diocesan Poster Contest!

Congratulations to our 1st place winners in the

2024 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition!
