Weekly announcements to help parents and students stay informed about important news and events.
Principal's Corner
Dear SJND Community,
As the Class of 2020 processed in their cars with their families by their sides Saturday morning, cheers, smiles and horns honking filled Chestnut Street. Watching our Pilot family come together to honor our 113 seniors was the most joyful experience I have witnessed, felt and heard in a very long time! To quote a freshman family that was in attendance, “On Chestnut Street we saw love, we saw friendship, we saw happiness, we saw family, and, we saw community.”
Visit our Facebook page to see some great photos of the day. And you can even view the livestream on Youtube .
Oftentimes in life, great joy and great pain coexist in our communities. On a day where our community felt such joy in coming together to celebrate our students’ achievements, the reality of George Floyd’s tragic, senseless and unjust murder did not escape us. Our mission is even more at the forefront of my mind during days like these:
Our faith-filled, diverse and welcoming community embraces the teachings of Jesus Christ. We develop confident, open-minded and effective leaders who are ready to live joyful lives of faith, scholarship and service.
SJND students are called to be agents of change and challenge the injustices that we face. I am confident that as our seniors go out into the world they will rise to meet this challenge. I pray that they continue to have the strength and wisdom to go and serve this world that so desperately needs their love.
SJND students please know and remember that I am here for you, even during these summer months if you should need to reach out. May our entire Pilot family stay strong in our faith and have our faith give us the gifts of love, peace and hope.

Locker Clean-Out and Item Return : As the year comes to a close, we're sure students are eager to pick up any items left at school and return items belonging to SJND. To do so in a safe and organized manner , we have created a schedule for students to complete the following tasks:

  • Clean out lockers
  • Return:
  • Instruments
  • Athletic uniforms
  • School uniforms (donation)
  • Loaner textbooks and laptops

Below please find a schedule for which day and time each grade level has been assigned. Please note that each student is assigned a 15-minute window to complete these tasks and may only be on campus during the allotted time, so promptness is of the utmost importance. We will be sending out another email via School Messenger with specific guidelines for students to abide by while coming onto campus to complete these tasks . If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Chris Crisolo at ccrisolo@sjnd.org . We are also in need of a few parent volunteers to help facilitate uniform donations; interested parents should contact Mr. Crisolo.
