Saint Jerome Regional School
"Living Fearlessly Through Faith..."
Message From The Principal

Dear St. Jerome Regional School Family,
October was once again a very busy month at our school. The weather was cooperative and the kids were able to go outside most days! Thank you for being part of the SJRS Family and thank you for all the sacrifices you make to send your child to Saint Jerome Regional School! Some of the highlights during the month of October are listed below:

  • In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, Father Zelonis blessed our family pets and then celebrated Mass with us.

  • Thank you to everyone who participated in October first mission project! We were able to raise $501 for the Hometown Fire Company.

  • Progress Reports were issued on October 20th and Parent-Teacher Conferences were held by telephone on October 21st and 22nd.

  • We started re-registration for 2022-2023 school year on October 18th! The discounted early re-registration period ends November 5th! Information is below.

Looking ahead:
  • On October 29th our students are permitted to wear their Halloween costumes, or they can choose to dress down in orange and black. No weapons of any kind are permitted.  Please be sure that the costumes are appropriate. Students may bring in an extra party snack for themselves for their classroom party that will take place in the afternoon.  Please do not send in snacks to share. Regular face masks must be worn with costumes. If the weather permits, we will be having a parade at 11:00am. Parents are permitted to attend. Please park in the parking lot. Parents can watch the parade from the small loop sidewalk or the sidewalk of the school. The kids will walk through the large bus loop two times during the parade.

  • We are participating in Red Ribbon Week the week of October 24th. Informative posters are displayed to help spread the news of the danger of drugs. The theme is  " Drug Free Looks Like Me!"

  • Be sure to watch the first of a series of mini videos that includes our Alumni and Staff sharing stories about SJRS for the 100th Year Celebration. The link to watch is near the end of the newsletter.

  • I know that our students have been wondering where I have been the past week and I wanted to share with all of our families that unfortunately I had to undergo unexpected emergency surgery last week and then contracted covid-19. Our teachers and staff have been covering in my absence and have been in contact with me daily. They have been tremendous in keeping the school running smoothly. I look forward to being back at school very soon.

God bless you and your families,
Mrs. Amy M. Hannis-Miskar, Principal

Please Help Saint Jerome Regional School Keep Tuition Cost Affordable
Throughout the year you will be receiving information about the various fundraisers through the school and the Home and School Association. The reason we have fundraisers is to keep tuition costs down. The actual cost of education of each child in our school is over $6500.00. As you know, tuition is much less than this. The fundraisers help us make Catholic Education available to more children.
We do not have mandatory fundraising at Saint Jerome Regional School because it is our hope that every family will do everything possible to support our efforts, not because they must, but because they want to participate and because they care about the future of this school. Thanks for joining the effort for the sake of our children!

Gift Certificates and Scrip Certificates
These are great ways to help with tuition costs. If you have any questions please call the office. Many people are saving hundreds of dollars in tuition by purchasing certificates. Certificates are sold from the school office daily during school hours and scrip orders are taken on Tuesdays.

Tuition Chance
This year we will again sell tuition chances to help you win money toward your tuition bill. The chances are $1 each, and paper slips are in the family envelope. If you want to purchase the chance, fill out the slip and enclose money in an envelope marked tuition chance. This is not a fundraiser. All money collected will be awarded to the winning student’s tuition account. If your tuition is fully paid, credit will be applied to next year’s bill. The winner for October is Teresa Mehlig in K Blue. The amount of tuition credit is $185. Thank you to all who took chances. Slips are enclosed for next month’s drawing which will be on November 23rd.

100th Year Celebration.
As you all know, SJRS is celebrating our 100th anniversary this school year, and to mark the centennial, we spoke with some of our alumni and staff for a special video project this summer. There will be a series of mini videos that we plan to share in the next few months with all of you. They were filmed in different locations at the school this summer, with Principal Hannis-Miskar conducting the interviews. The footage of the students and staff was taken on the first day of school this year. We hope you enjoy hearing what everyone has to say about SJRS. The first video features our Principal, as she talks about St. Jerome Regional School celebrating the 100th year!
