Tomorrow is the
Annunciation of Our Lord
! In the uncertainty of the current day-to-day, I almost lost sight of this great feast. What could be more important to our own salvation than Mary saying “Yes!” I am always filled with awe at the courage Mary had as a young woman to give herself over to God, to live her life in service to Him. We need to look to Mary for guidance in these worrisome times.
I have been praying for our community. I pray that we all feel God’s presence and that we find strength to face our current challenges. The Governor’s announcement that schools will close for the remainder of the school year is hard news to hear, but we know that we can handle the distance learning. With God, all things are possible.
Please consider ordering a yearbook! Provine is accepting
only until April 3. Cash and checks are no longer accepted.
is working with Mrs. Hatley to create google classrooms so that the band and instrument instruction can continue to move forward. Mr. Sawasky will reach out to his students once he is ready to go!
is still on the calendar and will be observed as scheduled. This means that students will have a half-day of distance learning on Thursday, April 9. Distance learning will be turned off until distance classes resume on Monday, April 20. This will be a welcome break and hopefully you will be able to see loved ones in person, rather than in Google Hangouts!
We have many important events that help us close out each school year, and this year, all are in a state of uncertainty. I mentioned the 8th grade graduation, and the 2nd grade First Holy Communion. Also on my mind is the 8th grade musical, the candle-passing Mass, the Kindergarten Graduation, and the Spring Fling….the list is endless... As I get information on these, I will pass it along. It is not possible to plan anything at this time, we just have to take one day at a time.
Friday, April 3, Father Tom will live stream
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
, from 9:30-10:00AM, including recitation of the rosary at 9:45. Access the Adoration stream on the St. Joseph Catholic Church Facebook page….
. Father Tom and Father David have acquired professional-grade live-streaming skills, so look for announcements concerning “school Mass,” and Stations of the Cross. In the meantime, Mass is live streamed every morning at 8:30, (and this Mass can be replayed later in the day, if more convenient), and
Stations of the Cross
is available on YouTube….
Keep the faith! This ordeal will one day be behind us. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Welcome one another....as Christ welcomed you!
