Dear Parents-
I hope everyone was able to enjoy a memorable Labor Day weekend with friends and family.
Mrs. Carson and I continue our efforts to get to know everyone, and enhance our communications. To that end, we will hold a monthly
“Coffee with the Principal.” Please join us on
Friday, September 7th, at
8:15am, in Room 214/215 - located upstairs above the school office.
In our continuing effort to
upgrade safety, the locks for the doors to the school and parish offices will be installed this week. Once installed, visitors to the school and parish offices will enter the first set of doors, and then “buzz” to be admitted to the lobby. This is a wonderful safety enhancement that adds an additional layer of security for the school. Special thanks to Father Tom and Mr. Rucker!
Don’t forget to join us at the 2018
Parish BBQ and Picnic, this Saturday, Sept. 8. Tickets are available at the Parish Office. Your favorite teachers are volunteering to paint faces and run contests, and we all hope to see you there!
Phase two of the
test of our School Messenger emergency broadcast system will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 5, after 4:00. This phase will allow you to opt-in to the text messaging system that will be used for weather related closings and emergencies. Once you receive the SMS message, please opt in or out, depending on your preference. As before, please
notify Lisa Pearce at
[email protected] if there were any problems with the test, or if you did not receive the test communication.
Mrs. Hatley has asked that all students and parents sign the
St. Joseph Student Chromebook Contract
. Click on the link to download the contract. Students should return the signed contract to Mrs. Hatley or their homeroom teacher.
Students in 7th and 8th grade will begin their
electives this week. Information regarding
clubs and various sign-ups will be available on the website later this week.
Mr. Pena-Ariet is looking for
parent volunteers who may be interested in playing the piano for choir rehearsals. If interested, contact him at
[email protected]. Volunteers are required to be Virtus compliant.
Special kudos and thanks to Mrs. Daughtrey and Mrs. Bilbo for creating the St. Joseph Six, and sharing them with the school community. These six rules,
Reverence, Respect, Responsibility, Reliability, Readiness, Results, have become the cornerstone of the behavior plans in all grade levels. Students will earn special recognition for behaviors that exemplify these rules. Ask your child for details, or contact your child’s teacher if you have questions.
If you haven’t yet signed the
Greenhouse Use Contract
, please follow this link. Print, read, sign, and return to your teacher.
Rejoice and Be Glad!
