It is not too common for a 62-year-old company to still enjoy the involvement of its founder after having raised up successive generations of leaders to carry the company forward. We are fortunate to have our Founding Principal Azer Kehnemui, DSc, PE, as well as Principal Emeritus Marcia Camarda, PE, LEED AP remain engaged with SK&A, contributing their insights, experience, and wisdom. The continuity produced by this form of leadership succession planning provides a dependable experience for our clients and a stable workplace for our staff.

Now, as our leadership team continues to evolve, we congratulate one team member on her elevation from Associate to Principal and celebrate with another team member on his transition from Senior Principal to Principal Emeritus. While these changes do not take effect until January 1st, we wanted to share this exciting news with you now. Note that this is an internal announcement only and that our clients will not be notified of these changes until after the New Year.

Cindy Garman, PE, BECxP, CxA+BE - Principal

Cindy Garman joined SK&A in 2004 as a Project Engineer and continued growing and taking on additional responsibilities, becoming a Project Manager, then a Senior Project Manager. She was promoted to Associate in 2016 and has proven herself to be a capable leader within our Structural Repair + Restoration group. In recognition of Cindy's dedication and contributions to the firm, SK&A is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2023, Cindy will be joining our leadership team as a Principal!

As Principal, Cindy will oversee active projects and assist with staff development, business operations, and ensuring high-quality service in our Repair + Restoration group. David Rodler congratulates Cindy on her promotion, commenting that "she has not only handled some of our toughest clients and most difficult projects but achieved noteworthy successes in doing so. She is also a great mentor, trainer, and educator, well equipped for this leadership role."

David J. Rodler, PE – Principal Emeritus

David Rodler began his career at SK&A in 1989 and was entrusted with the management of the Structural Repair + Restoration group in 1993. In 2000, David became a Principal in the firm and has spent the last several years serving as a Senior Principal. As of January 1, 2023, David will step into the role of Principal Emeritus.

As Principal Emeritus, David will begin working a reduced number of hours and transition away from serving as the SER on projects. In this new role, he will be engaged in support of select key initiatives and will work closely with Brent and Cindy to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities within the Repair + Restoration group. He will also remain active in the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), continuing to serve on their Evaluation, Specifications, and Publications committees. When asked how he would be spending his increased allotment of free time, David said he looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Jenny, enjoying days at the beach, and diving into his longtime passion of playing the guitar.

Please join us in congratulating both Cindy and David as they launch into these next chapters of their careers at SK&A!
