In the late 80's there were only a handful of bands across the world that kept the ska flame alive, one of our favorites was NAPOLEON SOLO from Denmark! An amazing soul/ska band, keeping the 2-TONE flame with modernist vibe, their first mini-LP "HOW TO STEAL THE WORLD" on UNICORN is still a stone cold classic to this day! They've been at it for over 30 years, but haven't released a new record since the early 90's. LEO & THE LINE UP are also from Denmark - they've become one of today's hottest ska bands with releases on PORK PIE, GROVER, and of course JUMP UP. A high octane ska band with three amazing female singers - it just made sense to unite the two on this Christmas single! LEO & THE LINEUP penned a new holiday classic "CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU" while NAPOLEON SOLO covers the classic "MERRY XMAS EVERYBODY". Limited edition of 500, available on RED and GREEN vinyl.

Last year we re-released the legendary CHRISTMA-SKA album on vinyl for the first time ever - it was a huge hit and the entire pressing sold out in less than 3 weeks! Good news - we've re-pressed it again this year with new label art and new color variations including MARBLED GREEN. You're asking yourself...wait... why didn't I have this MOON SKA NYC CD in my collection back in the day? Well here's why....this amazing holiday collection was licensed from MOON SKA to a Japanese company in 1997 - unless you were forking up the big bucks for an import copy it probably wasn't on your radar. To top it off, the label ceased operations soon after and this CD became a true rarity!

The wait is over! JUMP UP is proud to release the follow-up studio album from one of today's best ska-jazz-reggae acts. Anyone familiar with the American Reggae and Ska scene has already heard the work of the musicians in the BROOKLYN ATTRACTORS. The group's core line-up consists of New York City Reggae and Ska veterans, LARRY McDONALD, EDDIE OCAMPO, BIG DAN JESSELSOHN, BUFORD O'SULLIVAN, GIDDEON BLUMEBTHAL, as well as Anant Pradhan and Luke Penella, two emerging musicians on the NY Jazz scene. The group was created by Westbound Train trumpeter and Void Union co-founder RICH GRAIKO in 2011 as a way to pay homage to 1960's era Jamaican and American instrumental music. Their debut album "GOOD EVIL ALCHEMY" took the world by storm back in 2014, topping many year end charts including #1 ALBUM OF THE YEAR on REGGAE STEADY SKA blog. Pure Jamaican Jazz bliss, bringing to mind THE SKATALITES, SOUL VENDORS, TOMMY McCOOK & THE SUPERSONICS, ERNEST RANGLIN, and RICO RODRIGUEZ. A digital-only live album helped quench fan's appetites in 2015, but as we all know the world was waiting to hold an amazing new studio album in their hot hands! "THE MOVE" enjoyed an early release on cassette this past summer, the most die-hard fans got those old tape decks out to hear these fantastic 8 tracks before the rest of the world! Heavy on a jazz reggae tip, "THE MOVE" bounces with tight bass and cosmic percussion, often channeling the vibe of spiritial jazz pioneers of the 60's. The ska is hot on "ROAD DOG" and on the album closer "THE STATE OF THINGS". It's everything we hoped for, and is without doubt the BEST Jamaican-jazz record to have come out in recent years. Period.

They crew at MAD BUTCHER Germany really outdid themselves with these two reissues from the late 8os!! ARTHUR KAY's "RARE AND TASTY" was released on SKANK Records in 1988 but actually compiled his rare self-released singles during the beginning of the 80s during the height of 2-TONE. Songs like "PLAY MY RECORD" and "SOOTY IS A RUDY" are stone cold 2-TONE classics, but his "SKA WARS" single was not far behind. This album is essential for all fans of "lost" UK 2-TONE sounds! The other reissue from the same period is 1989's 4 track EP from the RUDE BOYS, this was the new orleans r&b styled ska band fronted by Roddy Moreno of The Oppressed. Originally released on 12" single on SKA RECORDS, Mad Butcher has put this exact repro on 7" single once again!

Originally released in 1987, this album is considered by many to be the birth of modern "third wave" ska in the USA. Remastered audio with "new" artwork that includes illustrations by legendary comic book artist Bob Fingerman.
KING STITT "COOL & COPASETIC SELECTOR SET" (Limited to 100)
King Stitt was a Jamaican deejay pioneer who began with Clement Dodd's Sir Coxsone's Downbeat Sound System in 1956. He was crowned "king of the deejays" in 1963 during the heyday of ska, and at the birth of reggae he entered the studio and created some of the first deejay records including "Fire Corner" and "Herbman Shuffle". This live performance was recorded in 2002 at the Legend of Ska concerts in Toronto, and features Stitt chatting over foundation ska selections with Ska Nick The Trojan at the controls.
REGGAE WORKERS OF THE WORLD "SELF TITLED" (Limited to 150)
Old skool Reggae and Rhythm & Blues trio featuring Jesse Wagner of The Aggrolites, Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers, and Nico Leonard of Moon Invaders/Caroloregians. Twelve original tunes, all groovy 1970s sounds, recorded in Belgium at Pum Pum Hotel studios.
DANNY REBEL "BOOMBOX SESSIONS" (Limited to 100)
Danny Rebel is an acoustic reggae genius from Canada who recorded this entire album live and direct into an old skool boombox. His voice is sweet as sugar, with clever guitar work and seasoned "boombox recording techniques" delivering a truly full sound. Includes a wonderful version of Dennis Brown's "Lip's Sweeter Than Wine". For fans of Marley, Toots, and Chris Murray. Includes download link.
RUDE GUEST "LOST CHICAGO SKA 1982-1993" (Limited to 100)
During the early 80's a small handful of bands kept the 2-Tone ska flame alive - Chicago's RUDE GUEST was one of them! They released 4 limited edition cassettes before the US third wave kicked into full gear, and this release compiles all 16 songs from these tapes. Songs songs range from happy-go-lucky uptempo 2-Tone ska with a strong sax lead (think Madness or Bad Manners) to progressive roots reggae with a rock guitar lead and brooding 80's keyboard.

THE AGGROLITES champion soulful late 1960s reggae, so it's no surprise that their organist, ROGER RIVAS, would be both a collector of those vintage sounds and be adept at seamlessly versioning some classic JA tracks. Back in the summer of 2009 Roger released a free download 5 track E.P titled 'Organ Versions Volume 1' which received a ton of positive feedback from fans worldwide, so in 2011 he decided to repeat this great deed and release Volume 2 with another 5 shots of classic boss reggae sounds. From day one fans demanded that these versions exist on wax - so we at JUMP UP are SO proud to bring you both "ORGAN VERSIONS" on colored vinyl. We have less than 50 copies available at the moment (our pressing plant is moving to a new location) so act fast to get in on this first limited summer batch!

In November 2014 Chicago and Los Angeles were lucky to have showcases with one of the sweetest soul voices in Jamaican music history, Studio One legend WINSTON "Mr Fix It" FRANCIS. The 60's hitmaker was one of Coxson Dodd's biggest singers, and his 1969 "Mr Fix It" LP featured the hit songs "Too Experienced", "Same Old Song", "Fools Fall In Love" plus the title track. His second album "California Dreaming" continued the tradition of soulful reggae covers, including "Yester Me Yester You" , "Groovy Situation", "Always Something There To Remind Me" and the hit Mamas & The Papas tune that named the album. In between these albums WINSTON would release two tunes that would drive collectors crazy 45+ years later - "THE BREAK" under the moniker BOB MELODY, and "YOUR CHEATING HEART" - a duet with LLOYD ROBINSON. Both these original 7 inch singles fetch INSANE amounts on eBay - yet strangely both tunes have never appeared on reissue - UNTIL NOW! At the Chicago performance, JUMP UP Records offered to give WINSTON his own imprint named "MR FIX IT" - with amazing new label art designed by the one and only CHEMA SKANDAL Timing couldn't be better - Grover Records in Germany has just released a brand new studio album with Dutch masters RUDE RICH & THE HIGH NOTES backing. NICO LEONARD is back once again at his famed PUM PUM HOTEL studios in Belgium, cranking out the finest Jamaican sounds on the European continent, if not the world! Over 10 years ago we were introduced to the MOON INVADERS, a sweet New Orleans rhythm & blues fueled ska band that went on to make four incredible studio albums before calling it a day. In between those great albums they started the CAROLOREGIANS with several members of MOON INVADERS, focussing more on funky reggae and Jamaican "skinhead" sounds. NICO has returned with a fantastic new dub/roots project enlisting a couple top session players: Pierre Haegeli on bass/guitar and David Loos on tenor sax - and of course Nico does all the drums, percussion, keyboards and melodica. It's so much more than you're adverage sleepy effects-heavy dub record - we'd like to say this record will win over reggae fans that don't necessarily get into "dub". It's warm, 100% organic, "soulful" reggae album with a superbly retro version feel - ten lush instrumentals that will definitely put you in the mood for summer. Since this project started Nico has also joined the "supergroup" REGGAE WORKERS OF THE WORLD alongside Jesse Wager of THE AGGROLITES and VIC RUGGIERO of THE SLACKERS. In 1980 2-TONE ska was dominating the charts, enabling the "Godfather of Ska" LAUREL AITKEN to enjoy a renaissance with hot new singles released on I-SPY Records, curated by revival mod band SECRET AFFAIR. Those singles were recorded with a "mysterious" backing band called UNITONE, which in fact was reggae-punk legends THE RUTS in disguise. At the end of April 1980 they all went into the BBC on JOHN PEEL's show for these legendary sessions, never before released on vinyl. Four tracks of pure 80's 2-TONE glory, amazing alternate versions of "BIG FAT MAN", "RUDI GOT MARRIED", his killer ska scorcher from the '60s "JESSE JAMES" plus the blues-pub rock jam "Rock Me Baby / Caledonia".
