December Exam Information
|
|
You may have a mix of in-person and remote/online courses in your timetable. If there is any in-person section in your timetable all of your proctored exams will be on campus.
Only students who have all their course sections as remote/online will write their proctored exams remotely through Examity.
If you have been scheduled to write in-person you must be available to write on campus during the exam period. Travel should not be scheduled during the official exam session and is not a valid reason for requesting a deferred exam.
If, for some reason, you are unable to make yourself available for their scheduled in-person final exam, you have the option to drop the course without academic penalty by November 1st.
If you experience a serious extenuating circumstance outside of your personal control, that impacts your ability to attend your in-person exam, you can submit a request for academic consideration. An extenuating circumstance is
“a personal circumstance beyond the student’s control that has a direct and substantial impact on the student’s ability to meet essential academic requirements or standards. Extenuating circumstances include but are not limited to a sudden or acute physical or mental illness, serious injury to self or significant others, bereavement, a traumatic event, or other serious personal/family crisis.”
Please note that requests for academic consideration during the exam period require documentation. The typical outcome of an approved academic consideration is an exam deferral. In the rare situation where a deferral is not possible, a student may be granted an early exam or a change of exam location, such as changing from an in-person to a remote exam.
