From all of us at the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown, we wish you joy, love, and peace this holiday season. This time of year is filled with traditions and celebrations that remind us of the deeper meanings of community, kindness, and connection. Christmas, at its heart, celebrates the spirit of giving, love, and renewal. For many, it is a time to reflect on the story of hope and light found in the nativity of Christ. It calls us to care for one another, share our blessings, and extend warmth to those in need. But Christmas is just one of many holidays celebrated at this time of year. Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, honors the miracle of resilience and faith, as a small amount of oil burned for eight days in the temple. Kwanzaa, an African-American celebration of cultural heritage, focuses on community, family, and principles like unity and creativity. The winter solstice marks the year's longest night, symbolizing the promise of brighter days to come - a tradition cherished in cultures around the world. No matter the tradition, this season reminds us to embrace gratitude, support one another, and find joy in simple, shared moments. For all of us at SKIP, these values are at the core of our mission year-round.
Thank you for your continued support, which allows us to provide nourishment and fellowship to our community. Together, we celebrate not only the holidays but also the enduring spirit of care and compassion that defines this special time of year.
Happy holidays from all of us to all of you!
Warmly,
The Soup Kitchen in Provincetown

SOUPER SATURDAY
A Delicious Success
| |
|
What a day, Provincetown! Our annual SKIP Souper Saturday was a heartwarming and lip-smacking hit, thanks to all of you. 24 local restaurants donated a whopping 120 gallons of soup. From local favorites like clam chowder to global delights like Greek avgolemono and tom kha gai, there was a soup for everyone. Each spoonful was a journey, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible generosity of our local culinary stars. A huge shoutout to the 15 local businesses that contributed to our raffle, making it a fun and exciting part of the day. And let’s not forget our gracious hosts, Jack Kelly and Paul Melanson at Tin Pan Alley, who provided the perfect cozy setting for our soupy celebration. The festive tunes by Jim Brosseau added a merry vibe, and Elaine Koss’s cookies were the perfect sweet finish to our savory soups. A special thank you to all the SKIP elves who prepared, served, and cleaned up after the event. Your hard work and dedication truly made the day run smoothly.
Most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to all of the revelers and “souper” connoisseurs who came out to taste and enjoy the delicious offerings. Your hearty appetites and generosity are what make this day so special. In fact, your support made this the most successful Souper Saturday ever, solidifying it as a cherished Provincetown Holly Folly tradition. Here’s to many more delicious years to come!
Stay warm and see you next year!
