Salt Lake County and Summit County to Issue Health Orders Requiring Face Coverings for Customers

Governor Gary Herbert has just approved a request from Salt Lake County and Summit County to make the wearing of face coverings in public buildings mandatory. On the heels of this approval, both SL County has issued a new health order that takes effect immediately and Summit County will meet at 4:15 PM today to consider an order. Members can download the SL County order by clicking on the box below. We will send out a copy of the Summit County order once it is public.

There are some limited exemptions from mask wearing in public that are detailed in this order. The most significant for retail is the exemption for individuals who assert they have a medical / psychological condition that prevents mask wearing. Mask wearing in our retail stores is now the law and we encourage our members to make appropriate operational adjustments to ensure customers are wearing a face covering while shopping.

If members have questions or concerns about the administration of this new policy please feel free to reach out to the association President Dave Davis.
