LDC to Provide Tornado Relief Loans to Impacted Companies in the City of St. Louis


The St. Louis Local Development Company (LDC), a nonprofit corporation that provides loans to small businesses located in the City of St. Louis, has announced it will provide loans of up to $5,000 with no interest to businesses that suffered damage from the May 16 tornado.


LDC works in cooperation with the City of St. Louis, St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC) and St. Louis Economic Development Partnership (STL Partnership) and administers several loan programs designed to assist businesses grow and create jobs.


Loan proceeds may be used by businesses for working capital needs or to purchase inventory or equipment.


Applications for no interest loans of up to $5,000 are due by August 29.

SBA Business Recovery Center (BRC) has been set up to assist small businesses, private nonprofit (PNP) organizations and residents affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding


SBA customer service representatives will be on hand at the Business Recovery Center in St. Louis to answer questions and assist with the disaster loan application process.



No appointment is necessary, walk-ins are welcome.

CertifySTL Business Certification Program Remains on Pause



As of August 4, 2025, city departments will not issue any new non-emergency contracts for city construction projects covered by M/WBE goals.


Already-executed city construction contracts will continue to operate under original/existing terms.


SLDC is hiring a nationally-recognized consultant to provide, in addition to community stakeholders, evaluation of the City’s current M/WBE ordinance and guidance during this pause.

Effective August 6, 2025 – LRA shall resume the acceptance of New Offers to Purchase LRA Property. 


All New Offers presented must be submitted by 9/3, to be considered at the September 24th LRA Board Meeting. Prop-NS properties available for sale will be posted for Bidding on August 6th, and be available for Bidding through August 27th. Details can be found at lrastl.org, or by contacting our reception office at 314.657.3721 or in person at 1520 Market Street, Suite 2000. 

45 Prop NS Stabilized Buildings Available for Offers by Noon on August 27, 2025 


The Prop NS Program is still in business and continuing the work of stabilizing, securing, and selling residential buildings owned by the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA) of St. Louis. The program currently has 46 Prop NS-stabilized buildings posted for offers to purchase until noon on Wednesday, August 27.
