SLHTA Elects New Executive Committee at 56th Annual General Meeting
Following the hosting of its 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually on Friday 9th April 2021, a new Executive Committee has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Hospitality & Tourism Association (SLHTA).
On Monday 1 st March 2021, nominations were invited for the posts of President, First Vice-President and Second Vice-President given that the Executive had reached the end of their term. Karolin Troubetzkoy, who served as SLHTA President from March 2010 to January 2016, and again from July 2018 to April 2021, did not seek re-election.
During Friday’s elections, Paul Collymore was elected unopposed to the post of SLHTA President. Collymore, who is General Manager at The Landings Resort and Spa, has a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector having overseen the general management of the Ocean Two Resort and Residences in Barbados.

SLHTA issues CALL TO ACTION to Members for St. Vincent & the Grenadines Support
The SLHTA has issued a call to action to its members, rallying them to support a request from the Saint Lucia National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) for water and other essential supplies for SVG. SLHTA members have answered the call to action with an outpouring of financial support for water, feminine hygiene products, non-perishable items and baby supplies for now.
Raising over Fifty Thousand dollars in pledges from members in 24 hours, the Association has already actioned purchase of over 70 pallets of water for dispatch to the sister isle by tomorrow. The strategic collaboration with NEMO will facilitate the transfer of the water by sea freight.

SLHTA, Nina Compton Partner On GoFundMe Drive to Benefit Restaurant Employees
The Saint Lucia Hospitality & Tourism Association (SLHTA) has teamed up with acclaimed and award-winning chef, Nina Compton, on a GoFundMe drive to assist local restaurant employees whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This GoFundMe initiative is created exclusively for Saint Lucian restaurants and their workers to support them in this time of need. The goal is to raise US$100,000. Donations of US$50 and over will be eligible for a drawing of the following prizes:
- A 3-night stay at Jade Mountain with breakfast and dinner in a Star Pool Sanctuary, valued at US$6,900
- A 3-night stay at Villa XHale, valued at US$6,000
- A 2-night stay at The Landings Resort & Spa, valued at US$800
- Dinner for 2 at Compère Lapin, Chef Nina Compton’s restaurant in New Orleans

St. Lucia Launches New Extended Stay Program
