Training will be held on the 24 th October 2018, at the SLHTA Training Centre from 9:00 am.- 4:30 pm. Cost of the training is $465.00 EC plus VAT which includes morning break and lunch.

This is an informative, interactive and engaging workshop, designed to ensure that Supervisors and Managers understand how to use strategy execution tools in focusing their department’s efforts in the delivery of both departmental and organizational priorities. Participants will develop the tools and techniques to design clear goals and implement practical measures for effective delivery. This unit also explores the most effective ways of communicating and engaging the team in delivering against agreed goals.

SLHTA in Collaboration with HEBS Digital Offers Workshops to Members
 
The SLHTA, through a collaborative engagement with HEBS Digital will present two workshops to member companies on Thursday 18 th  October 2018 . The workshops are specifically designed to separately target operators of allied businesses and hotels.   The registration fee is $100 EC per workshop, per person.  

The workshops, which will be held at SLHTA’s Hospitality Training Centre, are titled as follows:
  • Allied Session 9:30 am to 11:30 am – Owners and operators of restaurants, tours, attractions and sites seeking to grow their digital footprint on “Using Digital Marketing to Connect with Consumers.”
  • Hoteliers Session 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Directors of Sales and Marketing and GMs on "Connecting with Consumers During the Travel Planning Journey”.

SLHTA/TEF 2018 Champions Cup
The FINALE

The SLHTA Champions Cup brought over seven hundred (700) uproarious supporters to the Philip Marcellin Grounds on Sunday 30 th September 2018. The exciting affair was caused by four relentless teams seeking to secure top places in the Tournament.
 
Royalton Saint Lucia Resort & Spa went up against Sandals La Toc Golf Resort & Spa in the Third-Place match and Coconut Bay Resort and Spa took on Caribbean Dispatch Services Limited (CDSL) in the much-anticipated fight for supremacy.
 
Royalton Resorts Saint Lucia put up a fight against Sandals La Toc Golf Resort & Spa as this was the only chance left to secure a top spot. However, goals were in favour of Sandals La Toc who solidified their intention by scoring three goals. Royalton walked away with nil leaving Sandals La Toc as the Third Place Winners.
 
The Final Match sent quake-like excitement through the stands. Supporters lined the field like barriers as defending champions Coconut Bay played against new-comer Caribbean Dispatch Services Limited. The cheers from the crowd fed the open fuse that each team brought to the field. CDSL’s determination was evident but just before half time the coin flipped for last year’s champions; at the end of the first half the score sheet read one:nil. Coconut Bay hammered in two more goals before the end of the match. Coconut Bay is once again Champions of the SLHTA Champions Cup! The unapologetic team has been victorious three consecutive times in this tournament; 2016, 2017 and now 2018.

Saint Lucia Voted Chair of Caribbean Tourism Organisation
NASSAU, Bahamas (2 October, 2018) – Saint Lucia has been voted in as chair of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), with the election today of its minister of tourism Dominic Fedee, ending the two-year term of the Bahamas, which ascended to the position in Barbados in 2016.
His election took place late this evening at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island where the CTO held its annual general meeting ahead of the official opening of the State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC).
 
Following his election Mr. Fedee said he was humbled and proud that his colleagues had placed their trust in him. The new chairman also stated: “We have an opportunity to advance the strength of our collective purpose. We have to spare no effort to use our collaboration at the CTO level to help to advance the wider integration movement and the CTO can be seen in the same ilk as West Indies cricket and the University of the West Indies as success stories to unite the Caribbean further... Saint Lucia Secures 2nd Place in the FCCA Essay Competition

The Department of Tourism, Information and Broadcasting is pleased to announce that Saint Lucia has once again captured one of the top three spots in the Senior Division of the 2018 Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Essay Competition. Fourteen year (14) old Ariel Albert of the St. Joseph’s Convent secured 2 nd Place with her essay submission on the topic “ What Cultural Aspects of My Country Should Cruise Passengers Experience?”  In response to the question, Ms. Albert highlighted the following:

ICC Women World T20 Corporate Hospitality Package

Saint Lucia will be host to a series of matches during the first ever stand-alone ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Tournament set for November 10th - November 18th 2018, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. The highly anticipated matches will draw patrons and supporters from around the world to bask in the magnetic excitement.

Saint Lucia Crowned Caribbean's Leading Honeymoon Destination
The SLHTA Congratulates All Tourism Stakeholders on Saint Lucia’s Achievement.

Saint Lucia has won the award for the Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination. The SLHTA congratulates all Saint Lucia’s Tourism Stakeholders on this achievement. 

Saint Lucia has won the award for the ‘ Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination ’ at the 25 th  annual World Travel Awards. The award ceremony, which celebrates some of the finest travel brands in the Caribbean and North America, took place at Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica on September 23, 2018.

This is the ninth time the island has won the award in ten years and the win represents Saint Lucia’s fifth consecutive title as ‘Caribbean Leading Honeymoon Destination.’ Saint Lucia is also a nine-time winner of the ‘World Leading Honeymoon Destination’. “Romance has helped to establish the Saint Lucia brand and continues to be a significant niche market for the destination. “This award is a result of the hard work of all our tourism stakeholders and truly is an award for the people of Saint Lucia,” stated Tiffany Howard - Chief Marketing Officer and acting CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.
 
The Destination is also nominated for ‘World Leading Honeymoon Destination 2018’. The grand finale gala awards event, which acknowledges first class excellence of travel brands from across the world, takes place on December 1, 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
