Superintendent Report Highlights


Dr. Hines centered her report around the mission to see, inspire, and empower each learner to live their brilliance in an environment that centers student voice and experience to create racially equitable learning that energizes and enhances the spirit of our community. In alignment with the mission, Dr. Hines acknowledged Hispanic Heritage Month and Indigenous People's Day. Her report consisted of the following topics:

  1. Celebrations including the high school ribbon cutting and visit from MDE Commissioner Willie Jett
  2. New strategic planning partner with Pink Consulting
  3. Information about the budget listening session and deficit
  4. Kindergarten Welcome

Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) Update


Silvy Lafayette, Director of Teaching and Learning shared an update about the CIP process, implementation and communication families can plan to receive.

Kids Place School Age Care & Youth Enrichment Final Review 


Patrice Howard, Director of Community Education shared information about the programs:

  • 11 classrooms of children at Aquila Elementary
  • Kids Place Summer Fun served 423 students
  • Elementary After School Enrichment Class Enrollments: 1,032 students
  • Middle School After School Enrichment Class Enrollments: 150 students
  • Driver’s Education Enrollment Numbers (including Summer): 215 students
  • Evening/Weekend/School Release Day Enrichment Activities Enrollment Numbers: 320 students
  • Summer Afternoon Enrichment Numbers: 91 students
  • Summer Learning & Play Summer 24 Enrollment Numbers: 346 students
