Phase I Design Team Update: Career and Technical Education


Principal LaNisha Paddock, Career and Technical Coordinator Kara Mueller and Business Teacher Abby Lugo presented information about the Career and Technical Education. The goals of the team include providing career pathways for all students, creating programs that uplift the diverse student body, and providing pathways for each learner to leverage their passions and strengths.

Finance Advisory Committee


Director Patricia Magnuson, Assistant Director Josiah Nebo, and Senior Accountant Cody Christensen and members of the Finance Advisory Committee advised administration on economic and school finance issues and build trust in district finances. The committee made five recommendations to Superintendent which included:

  1. Within revenue constraints, build an expenditure budget that maintains an unreserved fund balance of at least 8% with growth
  2. 2.53% (current MDE estimate) increase in per pupil formula
  3. 4,326 K-12th grade adjusted pupil units (APU)
  4. Maintain student fees and meal prices at current rates; add a technology fee and increase community education premier space rental fee 
  5. Understand district cost drivers and focus on cost containment
