Superintendent's Report

  • More than 250 athletes in grades 6-8th grade competed at the middle school level (football, volleyball, boys & girls soccer, girls tennis and girls speed swimming) and over 50 7th & 8th graders competing at the high school level.
  • Girls basketball is in full swing and we have two teams competing against area middle schools until winter break. Boys basketball starts in January and registration will open this week.
  • December has many musical performances. Find information on the district website and at gopark.org.

Superintendent's Report

  • Dec. 8 Professional Development activities included curriculum implementation, data examination, and aligning standards for talent development at the elementary level, data examination, and intervention design at the middle school to improve math and reading proficiency, and culturally relevant practices and nurturing a culture of safety and care for LGBTQ+ students at the high school.

Calendar Recommendations


The School Board reviewed draft calendars for the 24-25 and 25-26 school years. The School Board will review the additional calendar revisions at a future meeting before being finalized.

Superintendent Search


The School Board approved the Minnesota School Board Association for it's search firm. View the proposal.


The School Board reviewed a draft communications plan. It's goals included using culturally and linguistically relevant communication approaches to ensure that stakeholders are aware of the search process, know how they can participate, and know where to find more information.

Y2023 Year-End Audit Preview


  • First year with new finance system
  • Through fall have been working on closing out FY 2022-23 and developing balance results
  • Reviewed operating and non-operating funds

  • FY 2023 K-12 enrollment behind in projections
  • Capture rate is mid-range in c parison to neighborhood districts (82.5%)
  • Gain more students than lost through enrollment options
  • Park Spanish Immersion not reflective of the racial makeup of the residents who choose SLP schools.

Farewell to Board Members Ken Morrison and Heather Wisley


We sincerely thanks Ken Morrison (11 years of service) and Heather Wilsey (4 years of service) for their commitment to the St. Louis Park Public Schools students, staff, and families. Ken and Heather brought valuable wisdom, perspectives, and contributions to the school board. We know Ken and Heather will continue to inspire our community with their passion and leadership.
