Superintendent Report Highlights


Congratulations Abby Lugo for receiving the Educator of Excellence Award from BestPrep. BestPrep is a Minnesota based nonprofit that provides educational programs to students in grades 4-12, with the mission of preparing students with business, career, and financial literacy skills through hand-on experiences that inspire success in work and life. Abby, business education teacher for St. Louis Park High School, teaches practical skills to students including how to apply for jobs, interview and prepare for their lives after high school. 


Celebrating the completion of another the school year:


  • The Adult Options program, which offers English as a second language classes, GED and college prep classes for adults, wrapped up their year, and nearly 50 students came together in celebration. The celebration included several cultural presentations.


  • Transition Plus, a program serving students with special needs held a ceremony for students who will be moving onto the next chapter in their journeys.


  • Early childhood, elementary and middle school students finished their last day on Friday. They finished their year with field trips, bounce houses, and dance parties.



  • Over 350 high school seniors graduated. The clouds parted and a double rainbow appeared. The students were awesome!

Budget Update 


Patricia Magnuson, Director of Business Services, reviewed final FY2025 budgets for all funds. The update also included an overview of the budget timeline.


In June, the School Board will review and approve the proposed FY25 final budget for all funds.

The school board approved all action agenda items including:

  • 2024-26 Employee Agreement for Operations Supervisors
  • 2024-25 Employee Agreement for Technical Employees
  • 2024-26 Employee Contracts for Directors
  • 2024-26 Employee Contract for Aquatics Supervisor
  • Other staffing actions
