Park and Learn: This is Your Place

Our final Park and Learn of the year is here. This series was created to give our community a window into the heart of our schools – to celebrate the incredible educators and staff who make a difference every day. Our staff builds confidence by centering student voice, and these moments remind us of the power of connection, care and great teaching.

In this episode, we step into Matt Mcleod’s high school special education classroom, where students are seen, supported and empowered. Through relationship-building, encouragement and an unwavering belief in every student, Matt helps learners find belonging, reduce anxiety and pursue their passions.

Thank you to every staff member who opened their doors and hearts to make Park and Learn possible.

Patricia Magnuson, Director of Business Services, Receives the 2025 MASBO Outstanding Lifetime Contribution Award

Patricia Magnuson, Director of Business Services for St. Louis Park Public Schools, has been honored with the 2025 MASBO Outstanding Lifetime Contribution Award – one of the highest recognitions given by the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials. This prestigious award celebrates her exceptional leadership, dedicated service and lasting impact in the field of school finance.

One of Patricia’s standout contributions is her leadership of the district’s Finance Advisory Committee (FAC), a group that unites parents, staff and community members to offer input on financial matters and build public trust. Thanks to her guidance, the FAC has played a key role in enhancing community engagement and shaping thoughtful, transparent fiscal planning. She also launched districtwide budget manager meetings – giving school leaders and administrators a deeper understanding of financial operations and helping align school-level decision-making with district goals.

Help give us a round of applause for Patricia's accomplishment!
