In the event of hazardous weather or unforeseen circumstances, the superintendent may decide to close one or more district facilities or dismiss students and staff early. Key factors considered for weather-related closures include:
- Current and Forecasted Weather Conditions: Evaluating both existing and predicted weather.
- Consultation with Park Adam: Assessing road conditions, driver safety, traffic, and parking issues that may impact transportation.
- Guidance from City and State Agencies: Incorporating recommendations and updates from relevant authorities.
- Staff Availability: Considering whether adult personnel can report for duty to ensure adequate operation of district facilities and supervision of students.
The district will make every effort to notify families promptly regarding closures or early dismissals. Communication will be sent through multiple channels, including text messages, phone calls, emails, the district website, and local television news outlets. Information from specialized programs and activities including Early Learning, Kids Place, and Adult Options may receive separate messages.
