Book Sale Room

The Book Sale Room is accepting donations of fiction and nonfiction books (less than 10yrs old), audio books on CD, and puzzles. All the proceeds benefit the library's operating budget. Please limit your donation to 3 boxes or bags at any one time.

No time to bake this holiday season?

You can buy homemade holiday treats and help out the library at the same time! We are looking for volunteers to bake cookies, and customers to buy and eat cookies! *May contain nut products*


Both bakers & buyers need to sign up in advance @ SLPL. Sign up starts October 14, 2024

$12 for a 1 lb. box of assorted cookies.

Payment is due when you place your order. 

Cookie bakers drop-off time:

Dinosaur Adventure Show with Field Paleontologists

Thursday, November 21st at 6:30pm

Mike and Roberta will explain how they became interested in science and the work of a scientist. The presentation will feature Mr. Nixon, an eight-foot Triceratops skull discovered by the team in 1996. Audience members will experience the thrill of digging up real Triceratops dinosaur bones and then help construct a dinosaur on a large cut-out. Audience participation, a touch of magic, and show and tell with rare fossils will round out this fun, educational and exciting adventure!

Slime and Sundaes (ages 5 and up):

Wednesday, November 27th at 2:00pm

Join us for some fun, making homemade slime followed by making ice cream sundaes. *This program contains food, so allergens may be present.


Play to Learn Workshop (Ages 12 – 42 Months):

A Family Place Program*

Tuesdays November 5th – December 3rd at 10:30am

Caregivers and children interact with age appropriate educational toys

in a relaxed, safe environment with the opportunity to speak individually

with early childhood specialists on a variety of child development topics.

This is a 5 week workshop for both caregiver and child.

Caregiver/child must commit to four of the 5 sessions to attend. *Siblings are welcome to attend if needed.
